Kohler Street in Gloucester City is closed to traffic coming from Broadway during school days between the hours of 7:30 am to 9 a.m. and in the afternoon between the hours of 2:15 pm and 3:30 pm. Last year City Council passed an ordinance making street one-way during those hours due to the high volume of motorists who used the street to travel to the Cold Srings School and Gloucester High School.

The playground at the Johnson Blvd Jogging Field was constructed in April 1999 using donations from the business community along with the hard work of over 100 volunteers. It took four days to build and when completed it was a site to behold. However just seven years later the Fort is showing wear and neglect.
OOPS! YOU MISSED A SPOT-Don’t take this personal but it appears whoever was painting the playground benches throughout Gloucester City forgot to paint the posts that support the bench.
As you can see in this photo taken of the rusted posts that support the bench at the Lane Avenue playground. The posts on the other benches at Martins Lake playground were also left unfinished.
No doubt, the Highway Department, with 23 employees, is presently busy with other maintenance jobs in the city. Such as cutting the grass at the parks for example. Hopefully before the first snowstorm they can find time to finish the job.
Like several other playgrounds throughout the City in need of repairs, the fence that surrounds the playground at Lane and Thompson Avenues is also falling down.

The legislator with power over the state's purse strings quit the Senate budget committee Monday, a week after a federal probe detailed his no-show job at the state-funded medical school.
Sen. Wayne Bryant, D-Camden, has been under pressure from party leaders, including Governor Corzine, since last week, when a report on the probe said the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey gave him a $35,000-a-year post as he steered millions of dollars in new aid to the school's South Jersey campus.
Investigators said Bryant showed up in an office once a week and read newspapers.
U.S. Army Specialist Elwood "Billy" Wrigley is on his way home after eight years of serving his country in the Armed Forces. He served with NATO and did two tours in Afghanistan.
He will be home from Madrid, Spain on Thursday September 28th.

Police are investigating two more attempted child abductions in South Jersey. The incidents occurred Tuesday in Willingboro and Saturday in Evesham. They come on the heels of an attempted kidnapping last week in Cherry Hill. According to a story in today's Courier Post.
Police described the man as 5 feet 8 inches tall with a thin build and blond hair. He was wearing blue pants.
A boy broke free after an unknown man tried to grab him while he was playing with friends in the Orchards section of Marlton Saturday.
Evesham Township police have released a sketch of the suspect.
