Junk yard?

Junk yard?

A resident in the 400 block of Ridgeway Street , Gloucester City, says he has been complaining to City officials about having to look at a trash dump behind some homes in the 100 unit block of South Sussex Street for years. He said there are times when the property owners don't put their trash out for pickup for weeks at a time. He added, " when they do put it out they block my driveway so I can't move my car."

The trash along with the other violations are located in the backyard (s) of several homes that border his property.

One property has a broken rain cutter flapping about from the back porch of the house. At another property it appears as if there is an electrical wire that was illegally installed just fluttering in the wind. If it is a "live wire" you are looking at a potential fire hazard.

Joseph Stecklair , of the Gloucester City Housing Code Enforcement Office, contacted on Tuesday, November 21, said he is aware of the conditions. "Our office is working on the problem(s)."

Photos of these violations were send to the attention of Mr. Stecklair, following the telephone conversation with a City News reporter.
