According to the unofficial returns the Independent Mayor candidate Bill James received 1,800 votes compared to his Democrat opponent Patrick Keating, who received 1,334.
The difference is 466 in favor of James. Keating is a Democrat 3rd Ward councilman and former City Administrator. James is a retired Gloucester City Deputy Police Chief.
In the Second Ward, the unofficial returns favor Independent Nick Marchese who received 613 votes compared to incumbent Democrat Ray Coxe’s 492 votes for a difference of 121 in favor of Marchese.
Third Ward challenger Jay Brophy, Independent candidate received 522 votes compared to Democrat newcomer Ray Pollander 343 votes.
