On November 22, 2022. (nee Powell) Age 95. Of Gloucester City. Loved and surrounded in her home with her family. Went to be with her dearly departed husband, Verl R. Smith. AnnaMarie is survived by her daughter, Maryann (Bob) Tomlin, her devoted granddaughter Velann Tomlin and her great-grandchildren Luke, Mersadie and Memphis (whom she loved dearly). AnnaMarie considered ALL of Velann’s friends her grandchildren, you know who you are and she loved you all! AnnaMarie is also survived by her daughter Diane of Starr, South Carolina. Samuel F. Andaloro, Jr. on November 17, 2022, of Deptford. Age 63. Beloved husband of Kathleen A. Andaloro (nee Riskus). Loving brother of Mary (John) Foster of Mickleton, John (Bridget) Andaloro of Delaware, and the late Josephine (Joseph) Comly. He is survived by many caring cousins, nieces and nephews. Sam was never one to stay idle, always the communicator and often the jokester. He enjoyed his Disc jockey days when he was better known as “Caveman Sam”. Benjamin Norman Anderson, known to all as Norman, entered his eternal resting place on November 16, 2022, at the age of 69. Born in Lawnside, NJ on October 15, 1953 to the late Travis Bud Anderson and the late Mary Nell Norman. Norman was a graduate of the Marie H. Katzenbach School for the Deaf in Trenton, NJ. Ruth Anne Munyan (nee Meister), age 92, formerly of Westville, NJ and more recently Gilbertsville, PA, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2022. Born in Philadelphia in 1929 to Harold and Naomi Meister (nee Harney), Ruth spent nearly all her life in South Jersey, marrying the late Amos Munyan, Sr. in 1948. Between them, they raised seven children. Like many of her generation, Ruth left high school early to help support her family. Despite the lack of a formal education, she cherished knowledge and was a voracious reader - Ruth finally got her high school diploma in 1981. Much of her working career was with Bell Telephone as a directory assistance operator, retiring in 1991. He was 74 years old. A U.S. Marine, Bob fought in the Vietnam War. CNBNews interviewed Kotter in February 2020, when he told us that Agent Orange caused his cancer. U.S. planes and helicopters dropped that poisonous chemical on the jungles of Vietnam to kill the heavy vegetation during the war. At the time of the 2020 interview, he was living in his truck and was in the later stage of his cancer. The doctors increased Kotter’s chemotherapy four times weekly as cancer had spread to his bones. Dentist; resident of Haddon Heights, NJ, for 60 years; passed away on November 11, 2022. He was 89 years old. He was the only son of Edward and Elizabeth Strow of Brooklawn, NJ. On October 24, 2022, George "Bud" Silvers, III passed away peacefully at his home. Born on July 19, 1932 in Camden, NJ and raised in St. Augustine, FL by Jeanne and Ed Silvers, before settling in Haddon Heights, NJ. His work career began at Millside Farms in Riverside, NJ where he repaired public milk machines. Published in the Gloucester City News, May 30, 2002 Robert R. Richards, an outstanding baseball pitcher in his youth, died after a brief illness on May 19, 2002. He was 60 years old. Bob "Reds" Richards Reds, as he was known by his friends and family, played on the 1954 Gloucester City Little League All-Star Team. That team was only one win away from competing in the Little League World Series before it lost. Incidentally, Reds received his nickname from his bright red hair. Mr. Richards continued his success on the pitcher mound for four years at Gloucester Catholic High School. Upon graduation in 1960, the Milwaukee Braves signed him to a major league contract. You could say Mr. Barber started recycling before many communities. He made a living for 20 years, collecting used bottles and newspapers weekly from businesses and residents in Gloucester City and nearby towns. He then would take the tons of glass and newspapers to the junkyard. The Glassman had a strong resembelance to the Jazz Trumpet Player Louie Armstrong Mr. Barber retired from the defunct Armstrong Cork, where Holt Cargo is today, unloading ships.
