From The CNBNews Archives, Year 2006

When winter was really winter DECEMBER 1914 (PhillyHistory)(December 2006)--Local meteorologists forecast an exceptionally snowy winter for Philadelphia in 2006-07. As this prediction looms in the minds of the city’s residents, the thought of snow is likely the last thing they want to contemplate. This sentiment probably echoed through the streets of Philadelphia in 1914, especially with the promise of spring just around the corner. Yet, on the evening of March 2, 1914, and stretching into the early hours of March 3, the snow became the sole focus of conversation among locals. A powerful storm rolled in from the Atlantic Coast, bringing with it a blanket of white that transformed the city. The storm wreaked havoc in New York and Camden and blanketed Philadelphia in heavy, wet snow, creating a picturesque but challenging winter scene. As the snow continued to fall, it became clear that both the beauty and difficulties of... Read more →

Congressman Loudermilk: What The Democrats Don't Want You To Know

WASHINGTON DC, Nov 1 — Transcript documents show that on January 3, 2020 President Trump ordered the National Guard to stand ready for the January 6 DC riots In a new edition of the Better For America podcast, Congressman Barry Loudermilk [R-GA] told host Rebecca Weber, CEO of the Association of Mature American Citizens, the documents prove the Guard was ready for deployment. As he explained it, “the DC National Guard is unlike other states where the Guard’s chain of command goes to the governor and the governor can use the Guard and law enforcement to help suppress riots. The DC National Guard exists for the same thing, except their chain of command goes to the president of the United States since there is no governor of the District of Columbia. Thus, former Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund made a couple of requests in the days leading up to January... Read more →

Photo by Rhonda Floyd A change of seasons is all around us this week, vibrant colors abound, the mornings have a little more chill in them, and anglers are enjoying fishing across Maryland. The Maryland Department of Natural Resources announced results of this year’s juvenile striped bass survey, which tracks the reproductive success of Maryland’s state fish in the Chesapeake Bay. The 2024 young-of-year index is 2.0, well below the long-term average of 11.0, and marks the sixth consecutive year of poor reproduction. Efforts to rebuild the Atlantic Coast population of striped bass have been ongoing for several years. Although recent population estimates indicate improvement, low levels of reproduction will influence future conservation measures under consideration by the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission. VIDEO: Third Anniversary of Biden's Chaotic and Deadly Withdrawal from Afghanistan

Associated Press image/GLOBAL NEWS +++++ By Casey Harper | The Center Square Aug 25, 2024 (The Center Square) – This week marks the three-year anniversary of President Joe Biden’s chaotic and deadly withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan. Biden committed on the campaign trail to withdraw U.S. troops, a move supported by his predecessor Donald Trump, but the process left 13 U.S. service members killed and the country within the hands of the Taliban. The Taliban also received billions of dollars in U.S. military equipment because it was left behind. Federal officials have pointed to an effort to render that equipment unusable, but the rapid collapse in the country left little time to actually finish and accomplish that destruction of equipment. The Taliban held a military parade featuring U.S. military equipment earlier this month. “What added insult to injury to all of this was the way in which it was... Read more →

DOWN IN DALLAS TOWN, 60 Years After The Murder Of John F. Kennedy

Down in Dallas Town is a startling film about the shifting terrain of public memory 60 years after the murder of John F. Kennedy on November 22, 1963. Through interviews with people on the street and songs recorded to memorialize JFK in the mid-1960s, the film explores the impact of the assassination on issues in today’s world, from lingering conspiracy theories to the proliferation of gun violence, homelessness, and the scourge of K-2. The Video was submitted by January F. The highly skilled Belgian Malinois can jump incredible distances. The smart, confident, and versatile Belgian Malinois is a world-class worker who forges an unbreakable bond with his human partner. Peyton and Me,

Plus Connie Head to Myrtle Beach

SEE VIDEO William E. Cleary Sr. | CNBNews MYRTLE BEACH, SC--On February 27, we joined the "Snow Bird Migration" like we have done every February for over a decade and headed south on Route 95 towards South Carolina. Downtown auto traffic is the same, bumper to bumper, making maneuvering a few blocks on the main street hard. The biggest reason we left that beautiful area is that rental prices tripled. A...
