Brooklawn American Legion headed to State Playoffs

BROOKLAWN, NJ (July 22, 2024)(CNBNews)--The Brooklawn Legion Baseball Team has headed north to defend their 2023 State Championship and their 31st State Title. The Dennis Barth Bulldogs have traveled the country from New Jersey to Nebraska to Georgia and all states in between to prep for this Tournament. This season, with fewer American Legion Teams, the annual Camden County American Legion District Playoffs was abandoned in favor of an eight-team state-wide tournament hosting eight of the top teams. Lady Lions King of SJ Group I

CNB Sports The Gloucester City Lady Lions softball team defeated Tri-County rival Schalick 6 - 2 on Friday to capture the South Jersey Group I Championship. Timely hitting by Senior Nikki Velez 3 hits (Triple, 2 doubles) and Sophomore Kylar Coughlin 2 hits helped pitcher Brianna Anderson in the victory. As the 5k event was about to start the participants were greeted with April snow flurries. However, 18 minutes later as runners/walkers crossed the finish line the snow had changed to a steady rain. Tyler Mondile pitches no-hitter for No. 5 Gloucester Cath. in 7-0 win over Pennsville

APRIL 6, 2016)With the 2016 stage sure to be bright, Mondile’s opening act Wednesday afternoon did not disappoint, as he fired a no-hitter in Gloucester Catholic’s 7-0 victory over Tri-County Conference opponent Pennsville. At least 15 MLB scouts attended to watch Mondile strike out 10 with two walks on about 75 pitches. His velocity sat between 90-92 mph, with his first and last pitches of the game topping out at 93.
