MAYS LANDING – A 69 year-old man is charged with murder in the fatal shooting of Marketa E. Thorpe of Atlantic City, following a neighborhood dispute, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner announced. On Saturday, Sept. 12, Atlantic City Police received a 911 call at approximately 11:24 a.m., in reference to a victim with a gunshot wound at 1507 Belfield Avenue, Atlantic City. The victim, Marketa Thorpe, was located and transported to Atlanticare Regional Medical Center, City Division where she was pronounced deceased. On September 15, 2020 at approximately 10:40 am, Lower Township Police Department’s Patrol Division was dispatched to the Jersey Shore Motel, located at 1400 Bayshore Road in Villas NJ, for a report of a gunshot possibly being fired from one apartment through another and into an outside wall. Witnesses on scene pointed out a hole in the outside wall, consistent with a bullet hole. The scene was secured and several people were evacuated from the motel. BARNEGAT LIGHT, N.J. (September 9, 2020)--— The Coast Guard and partner agencies assisted with the rescue of two overdue sailing vessels near Loveladies Channel Tuesday evening. Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay received a call from a family member of the overdue mariners stating they had not yet arrived as scheduled. Sector Delaware Bay launched a crew from Station Barnegat Light on a 24-foot small boat, and Long Beach Township Police Department launched drones to assist with the search. MAYS LANDING- A 36 year-old man has been charged with first degree Murder in the death of his wife on Saturday in Brigantine, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner announced. Brigantine Police received a 911 call at 4:27 a.m., on Saturday Aug. 22, 2020, and responded to 17 Girard Place in Brigantine. Rachel Declementi, 30, was found deceased in the home with numerous injuries to her body. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday, August 24, 2020. MAYS LANDING – A 39 year-old Philadelphia man has pleaded guilty in the 2019, bludgeoning death of his younger brother that occurred at Harrah’s Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. PHILADELPHIA PA--August 25, 2020--The FBI’s Philadelphia and Baltimore Divisions are asking for the public’s help in identifying several armed and dangerous individuals responsible for more than a dozen pharmacy robberies in Pennsylvania and Maryland. The suspects, dressed in dark clothing with hoods, face masks, and gloves, used pepper spray on employees and customers while stealing prescription drugs; primarily Oxycodone, Percocet, and Promethazine. TRENTON NJ (August 10, 2020)--The larvae of stinging jellyfish, also known as sea lice, were found near Ocean City. They have primarily been reported near Avalon and Stone Harbor Beaches. Stinging jellyfish have been known to show up in New Jersey near the end of summer when the water is warmer.
