Philadelphia Police Investigating Arson / Homicide Investigation

Phila policeOn Friday, June 13, 2025, at approximately 4:53 a.m., officers from the 22nd District responded to a report of a fire on the 2500 block of North Corlies Street. Upon arrival, officers found the property fully engulfed in flames. While firefighters worked to extinguish the fire, five individuals were discovered inside the residence.
Tragically, two children, both six years old, were transported to a local children’s hospital, where they were later pronounced deceased. A third child, age two, was also taken to the hospital and is currently listed in stable condition. Two adult women, ages 54 and 31, were located inside the home. One was transported to a nearby hospital in stable condition, while the other was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The incident is being investigated as an arson. One individual was taken into custody for further questioning; however, no charges have been filed at this time. The investigation is active and ongoing with the Homicide Unit.
