1ST ANNUAL FISHTOWN BEER FESTIVAL TO DEBUT ON FRONT STREET

Philadelphia, PA - Fishtown District and Evil Genius Beer Company are teaming up to close down Front Street for the debut of a brand new craft beer festival. The 1st Annual Fishtown Beer Festival will take place on Saturday, June 21st, from Noon to 4:00pm, on the 1700 block of Front Street. Beer lovers will sip and sample from 15+ of the region’s top breweries — all celebrating the area’s deep connection to beer culture. Look for 30+ selections to be pouring with a variety of beer styles - including signature favorites, limited edition rareties and hidden gems, and everything in between. The afternoon block party will also include DJ sets, lawn games, outdoor street food and other surprises. Tickets are $45 and come with a souvenir commemorative glass and access to all beers. Designated driver tickets are $10 each. The event is strictly 21 and over. The Taproom and Beer Garden at Evil Genius will also be open for full business during the event, with specials, features and summer seasonals. For the inaugural Fishtown Beer Festival, fifteen breweries will convene on the 1700 Block of Front Street offering a variety of unique, thirst quenching beers from all over the city. Fishtown and Kensington will be represented by local favorites including Philadelphia Brewing Company, Meyer’s Brewing Company, Lost Time Brewing Company, Punch Buggy Brewing Company, and, of course, Evil Genius themselves. Neighboring Northern Liberties will be sending Urban Village Brewing Company and Yards Brewing Company while South Philly favorites like Cartesian Brewing Company and Dock Street Brewing Company attend as well. Two Locals Brewing Company will hold the mantle for West Philly and Tired Hands Brewing Company, Wissahickon Brewing Company, Space Cadet Brewing Company, Our City Brewing Company as well as 2SP Brewing Company will be representing the greater Philadelphia area.
Guests can look forward to over thirty beers to sample at the event and will be certain to find a little something for every palate. Those who like a more fruit forward beer can seek out Wissahickon’s Frux PPG, a fruited sour with Pineapple, Pink Grapefruit, and Guava, or Dock Street’s Raspberry Hibiscus Berliner Weiss. Those who seek the intense flavors of hops can look forward to Lost Time’s Hazy Concept IPA and Evil Genius’ brand new Hazy IPA, 867-5309. Lagers will also be making an appearance at the festival with offerings such as Sunny Boy from Urban Village and the Bohemian Pilsner from Dock Street. The Fishtown Beer Festival is guaranteed to offer something for everyone.
The event will feature a DJ to spin tunes while you sip. If you get hungry Evil Genius’ kitchen will have a food tent offering pickle hoagies, walking tacos, pretzels, and more. There will be plenty of lawn games to keep you entertained as well. General Admission tickets are on sale now for $45 and each comes with its own commemorative glass and access to all beers.
