UPDATED/CORRECTED William E. Cleary Sr. | CNBNews Gcity's STREET SWEEPER IS BROKEN--The photo captures a moment earlier this week at the intersection of Sparks and Little Ridgeway Streets, just after the Gloucester City Street Sweeper made its rounds. Unfortunately, this $100,000-plus machine, which should be maintaining the city's cleanliness, is making the streets dirtier than they were before the sweeper passed. It raises an intriguing question: Why hasn’t Public Works Superintendent Alex Tedesco, with an annual salary of $121,000, taken the necessary steps to repair such a vital piece of equipment? Furthermore, as one observes the superintendent's pickup truck, it’s curious that there aren't any markings declaring it as part of Gloucester City Public Works. This absence only adds to the mystery surrounding the city's approach to maintaining the city sweeper that costs nearly half a million dollars. Bill would prohibit promoting AI systems as Licensed Mental Health Professionals (TRENTON) - Legislation to protect New Jersey residents from misleading mental health advertising passed the Assembly Science, Innovation and Technology Committee on Monday. Sponsored by Assemblymen Dave Bailey, Jr., William Sampson IV, and Dan Hutchison, Bill A5603 would prohibit a person from advertising artificial intelligence (AI) systems as licensed mental health professionals. The bill would address the growing concerns around the use of AI in sensitive areas like therapy and counseling, and would ensure consumers are not misled into believing AI platforms are a substitute for licensed, trained, and regulated human professionals. “I have spent my career in the mental health sector, it is too important to be left in the hands of unregulated algorithms,” said Assemblyman Bailey (D-Gloucester, Salem, Cumberland). “AI can play a role in expanding access to care, but it can never replace mental health professionals....

By Slim Randles | CNBNews Contributor We weren’t at all sure why Doc did it. Well, yeah, maybe human curiosity was the answer. Doc seemed to hate unanswered questions. It was about Sarah McKinley down at the Read Me Now bookstore. And yes, it was about the sign. Inside, you see, on the end of one of the stacks, Sarah had hung this sign, proclaiming the area to be for books for sale on “Love and Other Fiction.” Most of us just giggled a little and let it go. But that wasn’t true with Doc or Dud or Steve. All three of them wanted to know. No, they had to know. There’s a difference. So they had a meeting and elected Doc as spokesman because … well, he had these initials after his name. you know. So in went Doc one fine day in summer and bought a couple of...

The impressive agreement was facilitated by an economic mission to the Gulf Arab States, coordinated by Choose New Jersey. Consequently, the Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE) of New Jersey can cooperate with the UAE's newly appointed gaming regulatory authority. New York Yankees Stadium photo – Free City Image on Unsplash The New York Yankees continue to draw attention from fans across New Jersey, especially when there’s a local connection. This week, that connection is Jake Cousins. The reliever is done for the season after learning he’ll need Tommy John surgery. Before joining the Yankees’ bullpen, Cousins pitched for the Somerset Patriots in Bridgewater, which gave a lot of Central Jersey fans a reason to follow his progress more closely. Losing him isn’t just a minor lineup change. Cousins handled some of the pressure in the middle innings and helped take the weight off the rest of the bullpen. Now that he’s out, the team has fewer reliable options and will have to turn to younger pitchers who haven’t proven themselves yet. That matters more as the season gets longer. Arms wear down, and teams that can’t cover those innings...

From managing inventory to keeping customers happy, there's always something that needs attention. But one thing many retailers forget about is how important a good heating system can be. Whether the store is in a busy shopping center or a small town street, proper heating makes a big difference. This article will go through vital, clear reasons why every retailer should invest in a proper heating system. 1. Customers Stay Longer in a Warm Store When a store feels warm and cozy, customers linger longer, which increases the chance they'll buy something. Cold spaces push shoppers out the door quickly, cutting browsing time short, so comfort should shape how long someone sticks around and how much they explore. Even though heating might seem minor, it directly affects how engaged and interested customers stay while shopping. 2. Helps Staff Stay Comfortable and Focused Retail workers spend long hours on their feet,...

In 2025, the online gaming industry has seen the rise of skin-based virtual economies. Popular games like Counter-Strike 2 allow players to collect, trade, and sell virtual skins, as they have real-world value. In this article, we’ll dive into the rise of skin-based virtual economics in online games, focusing on CS2 as a prime example. What are Skin-Based Virtual Economies Skin-based virtual economies revolve around the buying, selling, and trading of cosmetic items. In the case of CS2, they are referred to as skins. These virtual items do not affect gameplay or give players an advantage – they are purely for cosmetic purposes. However, these in-game skins have rarities and can be traded with other players. This means the skins can be transferred from one person to another. These factors allow such skins to have real-world value – people buy and sell these items for real money. The CS2 Skin...

Credit Economic uncertainty can feel unsettling, with talks of recessions circulating widely. Many Americans feel unsure about their financial future. For instance, a CNBC All-America Workforce Survey found that 83% of employed adults worried about a recession, making it their biggest near-term concern. High inflation and the Federal Reserve's tightening policies are key factors contributing to potential economic downturns. While the exact timing of a recession remains unclear, it is always wise to strengthen your financial position. Taking proactive steps now can help you navigate economic shifts with greater confidence and peace of mind. Reevaluating Spending Habits A crucial first step in financial resilience is understanding where your money goes. Begin by listing all essential expenses, such as rent, utilities, groceries, and healthcare, ensuring these are fully covered. Next, scrutinize discretionary spending. These are costs outside of necessities, like unused gym memberships or streaming services. A 2021 Chase survey revealed...
