William E. Cleary Sr. | CNBNews My father and mother, George and Mazie Cleary When I embarked on my journalism career in 1967, one figure loomed large as my inspiration: my father, George F. Cleary Sr. As a curious eight-year-old, I would press my small hands against the cool glass of the window, my wide eyes filled with wonder, watching as he hurried out the door to report on a fire. His heart raced, and a palpable energy filled the air as he intently listened for the distinctive sound of the horn that summoned volunteer firemen to emergencies. Each blast of the horn was more than just noise; it was a clarion call, a signal he had learned to decipher with precision. The unique patterns of the horn indicated specific locations, like a secret code only he understood. For instance, when the horn erupted six times, then paused before blasting...

A Proclamation America’s fathers are the custodians of our strength, the leaders of our families, and the protectors of our security and safety. This Father’s Day, my Administration pays tribute to every father whose fierce love, heroic devotion, and inspiring example are molding the next generation. Whether by birth, adoption, or father figures, America’s dads help shape the character and future of our Nation. Through their example, they instill strength, integrity, and perseverance in their children. They rise early, work late, make sacrifices, and remain steadfast in their love and commitment to their families. Fathers lead through action, speak with purpose, and impart wisdom honed by experience. From their children’s earliest days as infants through their journey into adulthood, fathers leave a lasting influence that reaches far beyond the walls of their homes. The presence of a father also serves to plant the seeds of virtue and instill American values...

"We are heartbroken and horrified by the news out of Minnesota of the apparent assassination of Minnesota Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman and her husband, and the attempted killings of State Senator John Hoffman and his wife. We are shocked and deeply disturbed by these shootings and the dangerous moment they represent for our country. "There is no place for violence in our politics. Public servants should not be targeted in their own homes and families should not be caught in the crosshairs of hatred. This latest act of political violence must be a wake-up call for all Americans. We cannot allow fear or extremism to take root in the spaces where dialogue, service, and civic responsibility belong. "We are in touch with local and state law enforcement and are currently monitoring the situation. We pray for Senator Hoffman and his wife as they recover, for the families of the victims,...

The executive order signed recently strips out key pieces of a national tech directive issued just days before Biden left office, halting instructions that would have expanded agency control over software supply tracking, digital identity frameworks, and AI system accountability. While some post-quantum standards remain intact, most of the operational requirements tied to data verification and risk modeling have been cut, triggering confusion inside departments already preparing for compliance audits under the prior mandate. For institutions midstream in upgrades, the sudden shift has forced a scramble, not only in technical planning but in how risk is communicated across networks that no longer follow the same federal direction. The ripple effect is reaching sectors where system access and identity protection are foundational to day-to-day operations, especially in spaces where data exposure carries financial risk and user access has to remain uninterrupted, regardless of shifting regulations. Security models used by casinos that...
