Fam, M.D., MBA, medical director of Urologic Oncology, Hackensack Meridian Jersey Shore University Medical Center. “Others are not. There’s a fear of treatments that sometimes drives people not to get screened. But, in my mind, knowledge is power in this situation. The fewer surprises, the better.” There are common misconceptions about prostate cancer that are important to clarify during June, Men’s Health Month. “Some men think ‘if I have no symptoms, I don’t need to worry,’ that is very inaccurate,” says Dr. Fam. “I’ve diagnosed extremely advanced prostate cancer, even some cases where it’s spread to the bone or other parts of the body, and the patient...

Below is a statement from Sean Spiller on the this evenings results. “First, I want to congratulate Congresswoman Sherrill on her hard-fought victory tonight. Now is the time for all of us to come together and ensure that an extreme politician like Jack Ciatarelli never sets foot in the Governor’s office. We always knew what we were up against when we launched this campaign - the wealthy special interests and insiders who don’t want to give working people a voice in their government. I’m incredibly proud of the work we did to drive forward issues of fairness and affordability, and proud of the thousands of grassroots supporters who came together to support our campaign. I’m also incredibly proud to live in a country where an immigrant, a Black man, and a school teacher can run for Governor and compete. While we fell short, the fight for New Jersey’s families continues....

By Slim Randles | CNBNews Contributor In a few days, all those rhymers who lived in Tin Pan Alley back when Gertie was a pup will be fulfilled once again. How’s that you say? Was a love song ever written that didn’t have both moon and June in it? And the full moon will be here in a couple of days and it is our responsibility to go look at it. A full moon is probably the basic cause of most superstitions and spooky stories and maybe even a religion or two. And that’s because it shows us our world in an entirely different light than we’re used to. A moon softens the hard edges of our everyday world. It casts a pall of loveliness on rocks and water and even old cowboys. And you know this is another reason so many people are married. In moonlight, even a cholla...
