NEW JERSEY AMERICAN WATER TO HOST FREE “WATERFEST”

This Saturday, June 7, New Jersey American Water will host its second annual “WaterFest” event in Egg Harbor City. WaterFest is a free, family-friendly community event that will be held at Lincoln Park from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on June 7 (rain or shine). Children's Hospital of Philadelphia Works to Improve Firearm Safety

Philadelphia and NJ Region Air Quality Unhealthy due to Wildfire Smoke from Canada

PHILADELPHIA – Areas throughout Philadelphia and New Jersey will see their air quality impacted by smoke from wildfires burning in Canada this weekend. The smoke is prompting several communities to issue air quality alerts. It is unhealthy to breathe and can be especially harmful to sensitive groups, including children, older adults, and people with lung diseases like asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The American Lung Association offers these six tips for people to avoid lung irritation and health complications due to increased air pollution: Stay indoors. People living close to the fire-stricken areas should follow guidance from local authorities, and remain indoors to reduce breathing smoke, ashes and other pollution in the area if instructed to do so. Levant Maurice Hill, 49, of Pemberton Township

Levant M. Hill, a life-long resident of Pemberton Township, died unexpectedly on May 21st, 2025, at the age of 49. Levant is survived by his mother Shirley Hill; his son, William Hill; his grandchildren, Cloie, London, and Sapphire; his brother Brandon/ Jessica and nephew; and his sister India Hill. Levant was born in Fort Dix NJ on November 3rd, 1975, to Shirley and Mitchell Hill. He graduated from BCIT Medford in 1993. Levant was a devoted family man. He enjoyed spending time with family and making sure the grill was lit and the food was so good you had to go for seconds. He had a smile that could make you feel loved. Local 10 Year Old Unveils LEGO Creation to Vie for First-Ever Global Title

Philadelphia’s 2025 Mini Master Model Builder, Nicky Papa, unveiled their amazing LEGO® build to vie for the first-ever title of Global Mini Master Model Builder! Rabid raccoon confirmed in Clementon

(Gloucester Township, NJ) – The Camden County Health Department has been notified by the state Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) that a raccoon found in Clementon has tested positive for rabies. On June 1, a Clementon resident found a racoon in their backyard and confined it. The Animal Control Officer for Clementon picked up the raccoon and arranged for rabies testing at the state Public Health & Environmental Laboratories in Trenton (PHEL). On June 4, the Camden County Department of Health and Human Services was notified by PHEL that the animal was rabid. There are no known human or animal exposures to this raccoon. “Although rabies is a serious illness, it can be prevented by early treatment,” said Commissioner Virginia Betteridge, liaison to the Camden County Health Department. “If you have been bitten or scratched by a wild animal it is important that you seek immediate medical attention.”...
