Employees at Jefferson Washington Township Hospital –- along with visitors and patients -- recently enjoyed a visit by several certified therapy dogs from South Jersey nonprofit, FURever As Friends.

Held in the hospital’s Silvestri Tower lobby, the twice-monthly event gives colleagues a chance to “take a paws” and unwind with some furry friends. FURever As Friends is dedicated to strengthening the bond between people and pets, providing comfort and unconditional love through its animal therapy program.

“We’re always looking for meaningful ways to support the well-being of our team, and the therapy dog visits bring such a sense of joy,” said Jenny Breunig, VP of Operations at Jefferson Washington Township Hospital. “It’s wonderful to see our colleagues take a few moments to recharge.”

The program began in January 2025 as a way for staff and visitors to relax and enjoy some “puppy love.”

The FURever As Friends therapy dogs visit the hospital on the first and third Wednesdays of every month around 1 p.m. (to 3 p.m.), so feel free to stop by and meet them next time!
