Automation in Gloucester County: The Quiet Revolution

You Didn’t Ask for Automation — But It’s Already Here Not too long ago, filing a complaint with Gloucester County meant calling someone named Karen at the front desk, waiting on hold, and maybe—just maybe—getting a call back. Now? It’s a clean web form. No voice. No face. No feedback. Just a confirmation number and silence. It sounds convenient, and maybe it is. But something’s changed. The local government didn’t just modernize — it quietly outsourced attention. Decisions that used to be made by someone who lived here are now filtered through software that probably wasn’t even built in New Jersey. Platforms like GovPilot, ViewPoint, and SeeClickFix now handle everything from noise complaints to permit applications — a backend logic structure surprisingly close to systems behind 7bit casino online, where user input is streamlined and processed instantly without human touch. In both cases, you're not dealing with a person; you're... Read more →

Fighting for American Children and Workers

Last week, President Trump signed my legislation, the Take it Down Act, into law. The Take it Down Act is an historic win for victims of revenge porn and deepfake image abuse. Predators who weaponize new technology to post this exploitative filth will now rightfully face criminal consequences, and Big Tech will no longer be allowed to turn a blind eye to the spread of this vile material. This law stands as a powerful testament to the bravery and dedication of Elliston Berry, Francesca Mani, Breeze Liu, and Brandon Guffey, whose relentless advocacy made this law possible. I am deeply grateful to my legislative partners, particularly Sen. Amy Klobuchar and First Lady Melania Trump, for their collaboration in advancing this critical legislation to protect every American’s privacy and dignity online. I am glad this legislation was signed into law so that we can keep children across Texas safe from deepfake... Read more →

HOME COUNTRY: Ours is the blessing of challenge, to live, to thrive in the heat.

By Slim Randles | CNBNews Contributor When the world is hot and my skin is fried, scratching from the constant dry, let the clouds boil up, boil up high. And then shade the earth with the darkening sky and bring the secrets and the smell of rain. The coolness and the blessed rain, again. Our land is brown but blessed, stressed in the heat, the shiny heat of day. The slender green of rivers slide along, striving to continue, to feed its own along the banks, the banks where the dust rises. Rises, powdery clomp by clomp as we walk, walk the shady way. And though the heat, the dryness of heat, pushes down our weary feet, we plod along. Ours is the blessing of challenge, to live, to thrive in the heat. To toil and sweat, to make the cold drink at day’s end that much sweeter. Sweeter as... Read more →

Crypto Kiosks Under Fire in New Jersey Over Fraud Concerns

South Jersey is shaping up to be a flashpoint in the battle over cryptocurrency scams, with Gloucester County Senator Paul Moriarty leading the charge against Bitcoin ATMs. These machines, which have quietly popped up in gas stations, convenience stores, and corner shops across the state, allow users to convert cash into cryptocurrency without needing a bank account or even providing ID. On first glance, they offer a quick and easy way into crypto, but authorities say they’ve become a favorite tool for scammers, and Moriarty wants them gone. Unsplash While fraud tied to crypto ATMs has grown, much of it stems from outside manipulation rather than the technology itself. Scammers often pose as government officials or law enforcement, pressuring people into handing over cash under fake threats, like bogus warrants or tax issues. The targets, caught off guard, are told to deposit the money into a nearby crypto ATM. Crypto... Read more →
