Detectives Continue to Seek Information on 2022 Camden Homicide

Camden, NJ – The Camden County Prosecutor’s Office and Camden County Police Department continue to seek the public’s assistance in reference to the 2022 homicide of Andrew Ayala in Camden.
On January 3, 2022, at approximately 10:28 p.m., officers from the Camden County Police Department were dispatched to the area of North 20th Street and Wayne Avenue in Camden for a report of an individual shot. Upon their arrival, officers located the victim, 29-year-old Andrew Ayala of Camden, suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers transported him to Cooper University Hospital for treatment. The victim was later transferred to a medical facility in Atlantic City. He later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on May 21, 2022.
This past week, the homicide of Andrew Ayala was one of four cases featured on FOX 29’s “Save Our Streets: Unsolved Cases” series. The episode included interviews with the victim’s family and investigators from the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office and Camden County Police Department.
