#23 Rowan Lacrosse Places Six on All-Region Team

RowanNORTHBOROUGH, MA - Rowan, which has put together one of the best seasons in school history, has placed six players on the IWLCA All-Boardwalk Region Team. Elaina Corson, Molly Green, Katie Montenero and Mel Rodgers have earned selection to the First Team and Calista Burke and Sophia Schiavo were chosen to the Second Team.

The #23 Profs (16-3) have reached the Round of 16 in the NCAA Championship and will face Wesleyan (CT) on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. with a berth in the final eight on the line.

Corson, a junior attack player, leads the Profs in scoring with a career-best 82 goals and 18 assists (100 points). An All-NJAC First Team selection for the second year in a row, she picks up her second All-Region recognition. Corson, who scored four or more goals 13 times this year, set the school record for goals in a game when she tallied 10 in the NCAA Second-Round win over WestConn.

Green earned her third consecutive NJAC Midfielder of the Year award as the senior topped the Profs in ground balls, draw controls and caused turnovers while becoming Rowan's all-time leader in those categories. She added 42 goals and 18 assists to rank third on the team in scoring while earning All-Conference honors for the fourth time, with three straight selections to the First Team.

The NJAC's Defensive Player of the Year, Montenero anchored the Profs' stingy defense, which allowed just 7.75 goals per game. The senior ranked second on the team with 40 ground balls and earns All-Region honors for the third consecutive season, with this being her first selection to the First Team.

Rodgers picks up All-Region recognition for the first time in her career as she turned in a career-best season in the net. The graduate student registered a save percentage of 51.1, the 19th best in the nation, while making a career-high 139 saves.

Burke had her best season as a Prof, recording 56 goals and 15 assists (71 points) to rank second on the team in scoring. This marks the first All-Region honor for the senior attack player, while she was chosen All-Conference First Team for the first time in her career.

Schiavo was also a key member of the defense which helped Rowan outscore its opponents, 300-143. The graduate student picked up 55 draw controls and 25 ground balls this season. A team co-captain, she earns All-Region honors for the second consecutive year.
