$161M in Upgrades to Transform Camden County Roads

Camden County is making historic investments in its infrastructure.

The board of commissioners announced May 8 the kickoff of a $161 million program aimed at fixing county roads, bridges, stormwater drainage and more over the next two years.

That investment includes more than $81 million in improvements set for this year (with several major projects underway) – and more than $80 million of projects that will break ground in 2026.

Officials noted that Camden County is one of the oldest regions in the state – with many needs throughout its 228 miles.

Al Dyer, Camden County commissioner and liaison to Department of Public Works, said this investment underscores a commitment to maintain and preserve the county’s more than 1,200 lane miles of road.

“It will be a tremendous enhancement for drivers, pedestrians, and business owners throughout the region,” said Dyer. “Over the next two years, residents will see the reconstruction and improvements to all of our infrastructure throughout the county.”
