Vincent McGrath Jr, 72, survived by his wife of 30 years Anne Gibson (nee Jacoby) died in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family and friends on April 23, 2025. Vince was loved by his sons: Vince III (Mera), Neal (Bridget) and Jesse. He was adored by his grandchildren: Emily, Vaeya, Ryan, and Reef. Vince was predeceased by his parents, Regina and Vince Sr. and his brother Mike (Sue) and also survived by his siblings: Greg (Eileen), Pat (Liz), Mary (Mark), and Beth (the Late George.) He was beloved by many nieces, nephews and grands and remembered fondly by many aunts.
Vince was a graduate from Paul VI High School in 1970 where he ran track excelling in the 100 meter hurdles and the 400 meter sprint run. Vince had an instinctual eye and need to protect and serve. He loved what he did and had a “storied” 26 year career in law enforcement where he served Barrington for the final 17 years before retiring in 2001. Besides being a “street cop,” Vince’s passions were motorcycles, golfing, entertaining with friends and traveling the country with his wife. Touring through the mountains from Maine to Georgia, visiting a lifetime of national parks, soaking up the sunshine at a beautiful New England lake where he spent most of his childhood and enjoying the Jersey Shore beaches were some of his most cherished moments.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial in his honor at FOSTER-WARNE FUNERAL HOME, 250 S. White Horse Pike, Audubon, NJ on Friday, May 2, 2025 from 9 AM until 12 Noon. Service will begin at 12 Noon. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Vince’s memory to the Police Benevolent Association.
