Inv. McLaughlin and Ptl. Norcross Honored at 30th Anniversary Remembrance Ceremony

Haddon Heights, NJ – This Sunday marks the 30th anniversary of the tragic loss of Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Investigator John “Jack” McLaughlin and Haddon Heights Police Patrolman John Norcross. These brave men were shot and killed in the line of duty during a child abuse investigation in Haddon Heights on April 20, 1995. The latter’s brother, retired Haddon Heights Detective Richard Norcross, was wounded, but thankfully survived. Virtua Health Introduces New Mobile Grocery Store

Virtua Health has rolled out a new Mobile Grocery Store to help reduce food insecurity and improve access to fresh, healthy food. The vehicle is part of a new $1.5 million, state-funded investment in Virtua’s “Eat Well” food access programs. The initiative will also include the health system’s first Mobile “Food Farmacy,” scheduled to launch this summer. These developments represent a significant expansion of Virtua’s Eat Well programs, which also include a Mobile Farmers Market and two brick-and-mortar Food Farmacies. Voorhees Woman Charged for Possessing, Distributing Child Sexual Abuse Material

Voorhees, NJ – A Voorhees woman has been arrested and charged for possessing and distributing child sexual abuse material, reported Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Voorhees Police Chief Louis Bordi. Makayla Johnson, 20, was charged on April 17, 2025, with second-degree Distribution of Child Sexual Abuse Material, second-degree Possession with Intent to Distribute Child Sexual Abuse Material, and third-degree Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material. Multiple cyber tips from the National Center of Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) led detectives to a Snapchat account used to possess and distribute child sexual abuse material. During the investigation, detectives from the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crimes Unit identified Johnson as the user of the Snapchat account. Additionally, a forensic search of Johnson’s cell phone uncovered child sexual abuse material. Trump Administration Prepares to Arrest Noncitizens who Defrauded Entitlement Programs

CRIME White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt outlined key points from the memorandum to reporters at a press briefing on Tuesday afternoon. Through the memorandum, Trump aims to stop noncitizens and “other ineligible people” from obtaining social security, Medicare or Medicaid benefits in part by expanding fraud prosecution efforts across the country. “[The memorandum] will expand the Social Security Administration's fraud prosecutor program to at least 50 U.S. attorney offices and establish a Medicare and Medicaid fraud prosecution program in 15 U.S. attorney offices,” Leavitt said. Mayor negotiates $6.7 million agreement for the residents of waterfront south with EMR

CAMDEN CITY, NJ (April 17, 2025)--On Feb. 21, a vast four-alarm fire at the EMR facility, located at the 1400 block of South Front Street, sent black smoke billowing into Camden City and could be seen from more than 15 miles away. Rabid raccoon confirmed in Collingswood

The Camden County Health Department has been notified by the state Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) that a raccoon found in Collingswood has tested positive for rabies. On April 8, a Collingswood resident’s dog had an altercation with a raccoon at their home. Animal control was called but was unable to find the raccoon. On April 9, another Collingswood resident had an incident with a raccoon while walking. The Animal Control Officer for Collingswood picked up the raccoon and arranged for rabies testing at the state Public Health & Environmental Laboratories in Trenton (PHEL). It is unclear if these are the same raccoon, but given the proximity, it is likely they are the same.
