Brooklawn PD May 2024 Crime Report: Officers Discover Stolen Porsche from Washington State

**May 2024 Press Release:**

**5/1** - Officers were at the Rodeway Inn for a separate call when they observed a Porsche parked in the lot without any license plates. After checking the vehicle’s VIN, it was confirmed as a stolen vehicle from Washington State. The vehicle was towed, and the investigation is ongoing.

**5/2** - Officers responded to the Conoco Gas Station regarding a theft of gas. A Black male in his 50s, driving a Lincoln SUV, had the attendant fill his gas tank for $63.00. He then fled the scene without paying.

**5/3** - During an investigation at the Wawa, officers found two people sleeping in a motor vehicle. Renee Lynne Smith, 42, of Camden, and Keith Paul Blackwell, 64, of Mount Ephraim, were arrested. Blackwell was arrested for outstanding warrants, while Smith was wanted by the Camden County Probation Office. Smith was also found in possession of a crack pipe. Blackwell was released with new court dates, while Smith was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and remanded to Camden County Jail.

**5/4** - Carlos Emilio Bautista-Garcia, 39, of Camden, was stopped for a motor vehicle violation near Rt. 130 and Old Salem Pike. Further investigation revealed that he was operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or narcotics. He was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters, where he provided breath samples showing a BAC of 0.08%. Bautista-Garcia was charged with driving while intoxicated and issued several other motor vehicle summons. He was turned over to a sober adult.

**5/7** - Officers responded to the area of Rt. 130 by the Conoco Gas Station for a male found passed out in the driver's seat with a needle in his hand. After removing the vehicle from the roadway, officers learned that a bystander had administered Narcan. Officers began using a bag valve mask on the individual, and treatment was handed over to Bellmawr EMS. The male, identified as Robert Smith, 35, of Erial, regained consciousness after several minutes and was transported to the hospital. Smith was charged with driving while intoxicated, and his summons was mailed to his last known address.

**5/10** - Officers responded to Shoprite for a report of a shoplifter who fled on foot. Other agencies assisted, and the suspect was located at the Rodeway Inn. Luis E. Carrion, 47, of Camden, was placed under arrest and transported back to police headquarters. He was charged with shoplifting and released on a summons.

**5/10** - Officers also responded to Petco regarding a shoplifter who fled in a truck with $299.00 worth of dog food. A pick-up and hold alert was broadcast for the vehicle. Shortly after, a Haddon Township officer located the vehicle and conducted a stop. A Brooklawn officer responded to the stop and arrested Brian Raively, 24, of Gloucester City. Raively was charged with shoplifting and released on a summons.

**5/10** - Officers responded to Advanced Auto Parts for a report of a shoplifting incident. An unknown Black male stole a battery from the store and fled in a dark-colored SUV of unknown make and model. Anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact the Brooklawn Police.

**5/11** - Officers responded to Wawa for a report of shoplifting. A white male wearing a black jacket, black hat, and blue jeans scanned $73.00 worth of items at the self-checkout and left without paying.

**Incident Report Summary:**

**5/11** - Officers responded to the China House for a theft that occurred on 4/29. A white male wearing a black hoodie grabbed the tip cup off the counter and ran out of the store. A picture of the suspect was posted on the Brooklawn Police Facebook page. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Brooklawn Police.

**5/12** - Officers responded to Wawa, where a male was reported yelling at employees and asking customers for rides. Officers located Timothy Dale Lockhart, 25, of Wenonah, who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and/or narcotics. Lockhart was found to be a wanted person out of Gloucester County. He was placed under arrest and was in possession of a bag of heroin. He was transported to police headquarters, processed, and remanded to Camden County Jail.

**5/14** - Officers responded to Rite Aid for a shoplifting incident. A black male, in his late 20s to early 30s, wearing gray sweatpants and a cream-colored hoodie, concealed over $1,000 worth of allergy medication in a shopping basket. The manager confronted the suspect, causing the items to spill all over the floor. The suspect managed to collect nearly $300 worth of medication before fleeing the scene in a silver Hyundai Elantra.

**5/15** - Officers responded to the 100 block of New Broadway for a suspicious female who may have taken a package from someone's front steps. The female left a cart with her belongings in an alley behind New Broadway. She later returned to the area looking for her belongings, which an officer had taken back to headquarters. Brooklynn Margarette Miller, 30, of Lindenwold, was identified as the suspect who took the package and was charged with theft.

**5/17** - Officers responded to ShopRite for a shoplifting in progress. Shaun Adam Edley, 37, of Mount Laurel, concealed $61.11 worth of medical supplies on his person. He was also found to be wanted out of Burlington County. Edley was placed under arrest, transported back to police headquarters, and remanded to Camden County Jail.

**5/18** - Officers responded to Wawa for a theft. A gas attendant reported that someone stole their small heater from the booth. Officers located Andrew Lavar Jefferson, 47, of Camden, with the heater. He was arrested, transported to headquarters, processed, and released on a summons.

**5/20** - A white male in his 30s, with a beard and wearing a bright orange shirt, placed $49 worth of merchandise in a basket at ShopRite and walked out of the store without paying for the items.

**5/21** - Officers responded to ShopRite for a female who concealed over $100 worth of underwear and stomach medicine. Kristine Heather Bumbaugh, 52, of Atco, was placed under arrest, transported to headquarters, processed, and released on a summons.

**5/29** - While at the scene of a motor vehicle accident, an officer observed a driver in a separate vehicle approach and speak to the officer. The officer noticed that this driver appeared to be possibly under the influence. Upon investigation, the driver exited the vehicle and nearly fell to the ground. He could not complete any of the field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest. Michael D. Clement, 53, of Lawnside, was transported back to headquarters, where breath samples were taken. His BAC was .23%. He was charged with Driving Under the Influence and turned over to a sober adult.

**5/31** - An officer was flagged down regarding a female in a parked vehicle who appeared to be nodding off in a parking lot off Creek Rd. The officer located Janine Marie Bonanni, 36, of Glassboro, in her vehicle. Upon further investigation, she was found to possess two cone-shaped capsules containing cocaine, six gabapentin pills, empty blue wax folds, and two empty small zip lock bags with white residue. She was placed under arrest and transported back to police headquarters, where she was charged with two counts of Possession of CDS, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Operating a Motor Vehicle While in Possession of CDS. She was released on a summons.
