He was charged with third-degree shoplifting and defiant trespass. His charges were documented on a summons and mailed to his address.

On April 13, officers responded to a call about a fight at the Empire Sports Bar, with assistance from numerous other agencies. While on the scene, officers witnessed a male throw a punch at another male. Jayden Ruben Ortiz, 23, of Philadelphia, was arrested and found to have an active warrant for his arrest. Another male was acting disorderly and, when informed he was under arrest, resisted the officers. Jermeal Curtis Walker, 36, of Williamstown, was subdued and placed in handcuffs. Ortiz was charged with violent behavior-disorderly conduct and simple assault, while Walker was charged with improper behavior-disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. Both were released on summonses.

On the same day, officers responded to ShopRite for a female shoplifting incident. Both Loss Prevention staff and an officer observed Lisa Marcey Troutman, 54, of Pine Hill, placing items into a reusable shopping bag and covering them with other items. She then used the self-checkout lane, only scanning the items that were not concealed. Troutman was arrested and charged with shoplifting, then released on a summons.

On April 15, officers were called to ShopRite again, where Stephanie Stone, 40, of Westville, concealed $37.82 worth of merchandise on her person. Stone was arrested and charged with shoplifting; she was also released on a summons.
