Eight Cases of Shoplifting

**August 1:** During an investigation of a duffle bag at the Rodeway Inn, officers located the suspect and the bag. Mary Jo Draper, 52, of Gloucester City, was found in possession of the victim’s duffle bag in her motel room. She also had active warrants. Draper was arrested and charged with theft and two borough ordinance violations. She was processed and released with new court dates.

**August 4:** Officers responded to the Conoco Gas Station for a report of theft. A green Jeep, driven by a Black male, received $20.00 worth of gas and fled without paying. The vehicle was last seen traveling south on Route 130.

**August 5:** Officers were called to Wawa for a shoplifting incident. A Black male, wearing a white T-shirt and black shorts, concealed approximately $100 worth of merchandise in a pillowcase and fled the store. The suspect was last seen walking toward the Rodeway Inn. After reviewing video surveillance from Wawa and the Rodeway Inn, officers identified the suspect as Stephen W. Dunham, 36, of Mount Laurel. He was charged with shoplifting, and a summons was sent to his last known address.

**August 5:** During a motor vehicle stop near the Red Carpet Inn, Melissa Lorraine Zobel, 31, of Pine Hill, was found to be in possession of three bags of crack cocaine, thirteen bags of cocaine, numerous empty wax folds, a crack pipe, and other drug paraphernalia. Zobel was arrested, transported to headquarters, processed, and charged with two counts of possession of controlled dangerous substances (CDS) and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was released on a summons.

**August 6:** Officers were called to Petco for a shoplifting report. A Black male in his 40s, wearing a white T-shirt, dark pants, and white shoes, along with a Black female in her 50s, wearing dark pants and a dark shirt, removed two bags of dog food from a shelf and left the store without paying. The total value was approximately $150. They fled the scene in a black Toyota Camry with an unknown license plate, heading north on Route 130.

**August 7:** Officers responded to Wawa for a shoplifting incident. Charles Joseph Gentzler, 25, of West Deptford, concealed $150 worth of Red Bull. He was arrested and transported to headquarters, where he was charged with shoplifting and released on a summons.

**August 14:** Officers responded to ShopRite regarding a shoplifter in custody. Mark Allen Killmaier, 51, of Williamstown, had concealed $21.00 worth of laundry detergent in his backpack. When stopped by loss prevention, he attempted to punch the loss prevention officer. He was arrested and transported back to headquarters, charged with shoplifting and simple assault, and remanded to the Camden County Jail.

**August 15:** Officers were called to ShopRite for another shoplifting incident. A Black male, wearing a gray shirt, gray shorts, and black-and-white shoes, concealed approximately $254.00 worth of merchandise in reusable shopping bags and fled the store in a Chevy Equinox. The suspect was identified using still photos from security cameras. Michael L. Corsey, 52, of Bridgeton, was charged with shoplifting, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

**August 19:** Officers responded to ShopRite for a shoplifting report. A white female, wearing a black sports bra and black shorts, placed numerous baby items totaling $122.96 into a shopping cart and exited the store without paying. When confronted by a loss prevention officer in the parking lot, she abandoned the cart and fled in a red Chevy Malibu. Officers identified the suspect as Kaitlyn P. Bayrouty, 34, of Philadelphia. She was charged with shoplifting, and a summons was mailed to her last known address.

On August 24, officers responded to a hold-up alarm at the Wells Fargo Bank. The suspect was described as a white male wearing a white T-shirt and dirty jeans. He handed a note to the teller demanding money, but no weapon was displayed. The suspect was last seen fleeing on foot toward the wooded area behind the shopping center. Numerous agencies, including a K9 unit, assisted in the search for the suspect but were unsuccessful.

The following day, August 25, Mount Ephraim Police arrested a male who was already wanted and matched the description of the bank robbery suspect. A detective from Brooklawn and representatives from the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office were contacted and responded to the police headquarters. Edward Darst Brooks, 41, of Newark, Delaware, was charged with second-degree robbery and remanded to the Camden County Jail.

On August 25, officers also responded to Wawa regarding a black male wearing an orange shirt, an orange bucket hat, black pants, and black sandals, who concealed approximately $40 worth of drinks in a reusable shopping bag. The male fled the store on foot toward Bellmawr. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate him.

On August 26, officers responded to Wawa again, this time for a white female wearing a white tie-dye shirt and tie-dye pants who concealed approximately $25 worth of merchandise. Using surveillance footage, the suspect was identified as Melany L. Chila, 45, of Clarksboro. She was charged with shoplifting, and a summons was mailed to her last known address.

On August 29, officers went to Wawa for a report of a black male in his 40s who concealed approximately $40 worth of food items. The suspect fled the scene in a black Chevy SUV heading north on Route 130.

- Holly Michele Galanti, 44, of Brooklawn
- Michael Thomas Zsirai, 52, of Deptford
