Women’s History Month Events in Greater Philadelphia
Thursday, March 20, 2025
The Founding Fathers weren’t the only ones who knew how to cause a ruckus. Philadelphia celebrates the women of America — past and present — with special events, programming and more during Women’s History Month.
- Women’s History Month at the Museum of the American Revolution: The Museum of the American Revolution honors the revolutionary women of the nation’s independence movements with a slate of special programming, including theatrical performances, daily 10-minute talks about the museum’s staff’s favorite women’s history artifacts and more (through March 31, 2025).
- Women’s Way Wednesdays at Stratus Rooftop Lounge: Raise your glass to the ladies at this weekly pop up featuring women DJs and food and drink from woman-owned or -operated purveyors, with this Wednesday showcasing chef Karla Torres of La Ingrata. Ticket sales — and a portion of the drink proceeds — support the Sisterly Love Collective and Women’s Way (Wednesdays through March).
- Healing Women: Women’s Care Work and Caring for Women’s Bodies During the 18th Century at the Betsy Ross House: This special after-hours event at the Betsy Ross House introduces visitors to a Colonial-era midwife, paired with a talk — by University of Pennsylvania’s Kathleen Brown — focusing on 18th-century women’s medicine and reproductive health. The free event includes a tour of the historic house and is part of the attraction’s month-long series of Women’s History Month events (Thursday).
- Women’s History Month Pop-up at Barnes & Noble: Led by local history expert (and former Visit Philadelphia staffer) Cara Schneider Bongiorno, this pop up explores the Centennial Exposition — aka America’s 100th birthday celebration in 1876. Learn what drew 10 million people to Fairmount Park — and how women came to the rescue (Thursday).
- Sister Sunday at The Logan, Philadelphia’s Hotel: The annual Sister Sunday is back for its fourth year! This free event supports small women-owned businesses, bringing together more than 40 vendors to The Logan hotel’s courtyard, offering clothes, jewelry, candles, prints and other handmade goods for sale, plus live music, adult beverages and bites (Sunday).
