Sedalis Hits 2 Homers to Lead #17 Rowan over Washington & Jefferson, 14-1

Screenshot 2025-01-12 082725DAVENPORT, FL - Phil Sedalis hit two home runs, Jason Morgan had four hits, and Mike Shannon threw a complete game as #17 Rowan defeated Washington & Jefferson, 14-1, in seven innings as the Profs opened play in the RussMatt Invitational. 
Sedalis was 2-for-5 at the plate with three RBI while it marked his second career game with two homers, going back to his first appearance as a Prof at Virginia Wesleyan in 2023. The senior now has four home runs on the season. 
Morgan was 4-for-4 with three runs and one RBI, while Brayden Davis went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. Tyler Cannon, Joey Bogart and Marco Mannino notched two hits apiece for Rowan (5-1), with Bogart picking up three RBI. 
Shannon upped his record to 3-0 as the righthander allowed just one run and five hits, and struck out four. 
Washington & Jefferson took a 1-0 lead in their first at-bat, but Sedalis promptly gave Rowan a 2-1 lead with a two-run shot to score Cannon, who led off with a single.
The Profs added four more in the third starting with Harcourt driving in one after he was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. Joey Bogart hit a two-run single and then Marco Mannino drove in Harcourt with a sacrifice fly, giving Rowan a 6-1 advantage. 
Rowan pulled away even more in the fourth by scoring five to take an 11-1 lead. Sedalis led off with a solo shot and doubles by Morgan and Struble added to the toal. Bogart then recorded another RBI with a single and Tyler Cannon hit a two-run single. 
The Profs added three more in the fifth to seal the game shortened by the 10-run rule. Morgan doubled to bring home Eric Sabato and Brayden Davis hit a two-run shot over the left-center fence. his second of the year, to provide the final margin. 
Rowan will take on UMass-Boston on Friday at Lake Myrtle Park in Auburndale with the start time scheduled for 3:15 pm.
