Rowan Women's Lacrosse Rolls to 4-0 Start with 17-6 Win at Muhlenberg

RowanALLENTOWN, PA -Fiona Lockhart scored four goals and Elaina Corson and Calista Burke had three each as Rowan stormed to a 17-6 win over Muhlenberg in a women's lacrosse matchup this afternoon. The Profs have started the year at 4-0 for just the third time in school history and the first time since 1975.

Muhlenberg (3-1) scored the game's first goal with five minutes remaining in the first quarter, and then the Profs tallied five in a row in 4:07, holding a 5-1 lead at the end of the quarter. Corson opened the scoring followed by Alexis Lowry, Lockhart, Burke with two in a row and Molly Green, with her first of two goals in the game.

The Mules again scored the first goal of the second quarter, and Hannah Lombardo answered with the first of six consecutive goals to give Rowan an 11-2 lead with 4:33 to go. After another goal by Muhlenberg, Amelia Govern netted her first goal of the season as Rowan owned a 12-3 halftime lead.

The Profs achieved the 10-goal lead at 11:58 of the third as Corson scored her 15th of the season and started a streak of four in a row, with Lockhart netting two and Trish Gillen adding a goal to give them a 16-3 lead. Rowan finished it out in the fourth as Olivia Wisor picked up her first goal of the season.

Rowan held a dominating 31-19 advantage in shots with Mel Rodgers making five saves in 49 minutes and Kylie Durboraw closing out the final 10 minutes in the net, notching one save.

The Profs will have the weekend off and host a pair of home games next week, hosting Kenyon on Tuesday and Susquehanna on Saturday, March 15.
