Once a cherished resident of Gloucester City, Judy spent her formative years in a home that overlooked the picturesque Martins’ Lake Park on East Brown Street. She was a proud member of the Class of 1962 at Gloucester High School. Judy was actively engaged in school life and was part of the Co-Ettes, the high school sorority that fostered lifelong friendships, and her voice enriched the school chorus. With a spirit of leadership, she served on the student council and shared her insights through the school newspaper while captivating audiences in the annual school play.

Judy was a regular at the Friday night dances in the school auditorium. She and her friends were often found at Powell’s Luncheonette on Broadway, eating a hamburger and drinking a Coke or enjoying delicious pies at Venice Pizzeria on Market Street. Judy’s joyful spirit and zest for life left an indelible mark on all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She had a contagious laugh and a smile that would light up a room.

She was married to the late Robert Weichmann and is survived by her sons, Robert (Bob) Weichmann and John (Jack) Weichmann. Her son, Francis (Frank) Weichmann, predeceased her.

She is also survived by her sister, Joy McGlinchey; she was predeceased by her sister, Janice Schaefer.

In accordance with Judy’s wishes, funeral services were private. The family requests that memorial donations in her name be made to the Class of 1962 Scholarship Fund; please send your check to Gloucester High School, 1300 Market Street, Gloucester City, NJ 08030. In the memo, kindly write Judy Weichmann.
