On March 4, 2025, President Trump's address to a joint session of Congress lasted nearly 100 minutes, making it the longest in recent history. His remarks surpassed those of former President Bill Clinton's second-longest address at the State of the Union in 2000, which lasted an hour and 28 minutes, according to the American Presidency Project, which has tracked speech lengths since President Lyndon B. Johnson in 1964. (Photo courtesy of Wikipedia)
WASHINGTON, D.C. (MARCH 6, 2025) (CNBNews) -- On the night of March 4, during a joint session of Congress, Republican President Donald J. Trump, the 47th president of the United States, outlined what his administration has accomplished in the first 73 days of his term. He also discussed some of his goals, including ending the Ukraine-Russia War, making Greenland the 51st state of the United States, re-naming the Gulf of Mexico the Gulf of America, and the renamed of of Mount Mckinley, Alaska, after the great president, William McKinley. Also, he signed an executive order to ban men from playing in women’s sports.
"We have accomplished more in 43 days than most administrations accomplished in 4 years, 8 years — and we are just getting started. I return to this chamber tonight to report that America’s momentum is back. Our spirit is back. Our pride is back. Our confidence is back. And the American Dream is surging bigger and better than ever before."
Trump, elected in November to his second term as president, praised Elon Musk, head of the newly established Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), for his efforts in uncovering billions of dollars in government waste. A list of some of those achievements follows. On the other side of the aisle, the Washington elite, along with the left-leaning media, have criticized Trump and Musk for the cutbacks his office has made.
The question that arises is why haven't the present day Democrats and the left-leaning media mention the former Presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama who did the same. After several attempts to interrupt the president's address, New York Democrat Congressman Green was removed from the House Chambers early in the evening by the Sergeant at Arms. Nevertheless, his removal did not stop the Democratic minority from holding up printed signs of discontent each time Trump referenced his accomplishments.
According to the President, the waste that has been discovered so far includes:
$22 billion from HHS to provide free housing and cars for illegal aliens,
$45 million for diversity, equity and inclusion scholarships in Burma,
$40 million to improve the social and economic inclusion of sedentary migrants,
$8 million to promote LGBTQ+ in the African nation of Lesotho, which nobody has ever heard of,
$60 million for Indigenous peoples,
$60 million for Afro-Colombian empowerment in Central America,
$8 million for making mice transgender,
$32 million for a left-wing propaganda operation in Moldova,
$10 million for male circumcision in Mozambique,
$20 million for the Arab “Sesame Street” in the Middle East,
$1.9 billion to recently created decarbonization of homes committee — headed up and we know she’s involved just at the last moment, the money was passed over by a woman named Stacey Abrams. Have you ever heard of her?,
$3.5 million consulting contract for lavish fish monitoring,
$1.5 million for voter confidence in Liberia,
$14 million for social cohesion in Mali,
$59 million for illegal alien hotel rooms in New York City, real estate developers done very well.
$250,000 to increase vegan local climate action innovation in Zambia,
$42 million for social and behavior change in Uganda,
$14 million for improving public procurement in Serbia,
$47 million for improving learning outcomes in Asia. Asia is doing very well with learning. You know what we’re doing? Should use it ourselves. A
$101 million for DEI contracts at the Department of Education.
"The most ever paid, nothing even like it. Under the Trump administration, all of these scams and there are far worse, but I didn’t think it was appropriate to talk about them, they’re so bad. Many more have been found out and exposed and swiftly terminated by a group of very intelligent, mostly young people headed up by Elon, and we appreciate it. We found hundreds of billions of dollars of fraud," Trump stated.
