Homicide Victim Identified-$20,000 Reward Leading to Arrest and Conviction

On Monday, March 3, 2025, at 8:56 p.m., officers from the 12th District responded to a shooting at DeRetis Playground, located at 5600 Grays Avenue, following reports of a possible gunshot victim inside the basketball court. Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Police immediately transported him to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 9:05 p.m. The victim has been identified as 18-year-old Anthony Jerome Sharpe Jr. of Smyrna, Delaware. At this time, the motive remains unknown, and no arrests have been made.
