GLOUCESTER CITY, NJ (March 1, 2025)(CNBNews)--On Sunday, March 2 at 1 PM, the spirited St. Patrick's Day Parade will start at Martins Lake, at the intersection of Johnson Boulevard and Baynes Avenue and turn onto Monmouth Street heading west towards King Street ending at King and Cumberland Streets.

Ten years ago, this Irish Celebration was the brainchild of the beloved Monsignor Bill Hodge, the former pastor of St. Mary's parish. Since then, the parade has grown as more bands and performers are added each year. Spectators come from all across New Jersey and from nearby Philadelphia, PA. This Sunday, the celebration will draw several thousand enthusiastic spectators eager to witness the colorful spectacle.

At the heart of the festivities, St. Mary's Church,  at 426 Monmouth Street, will serve as the focal point for the party. The parade promises an enchanting display that includes lively string bands, captivating bagpipers, graceful Irish dancers, vibrant community groups, and eye-catching floats, each bringing their charm and character to the event.

The Camden County Board of Commissioners will join the NJ Irish Society and the Gloucester City community in celebrating the 10th Annual NJ Irish Society St. Patrick's Parade. “This is an event that we look forward to every year,” Commissioner Deputy Director Ed McDonnell said. “The St. Patrick’s Day Parade allows the entire Camden County community to come together, have some fun, and celebrate a beautiful culture.”

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, one out of every 10 Americans considers themselves to have Irish heritage. There are more than 30 million citizens in this nation, and the parade will celebrate that heritage. The NJ Irish Society is an Irish American community-based volunteer organization dedicated to enhancing, promoting, and preserving Irish culture and heritage, promoting charity, and honoring Irish heritage within its community while serving the community at large.

The Gloucester City Police have announced details about parking restrictions and road closures to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants and attendees. No parking and road closures will occur from 9:00 AM until the Highway Department finishes sweeping the parade route to accommodate the event.
