With the NFL season officially ending, Philadelphia Eagles fans can reflect on a truly memorable campaign. Many watched the famous Super Bowl win in some of the city’s beloved sports bars, with these popular destinations housing sports lovers throughout the year. They aren’t just for football fans, though, with some of the world’s most popular sports being shown regularly in some of the city’s finest venues.
Sports bars are fantastic venues to take in some sporting action. Full of like-minded sports fans, you can start conversations with passionate supporters, eat an array of delicious food options, sink some refreshing local drinks, and sample a unique atmosphere that probably isn’t available at home on the sofa. As a city, Philadelphia has a substantial selection of sports bars to choose from, highlighting once again just how sports mad Pennsylvania’s largest city is.
Without these iconic bars, sports fans wouldn’t have many venues to assemble and follow the action. Alongside tweaking their fantasy teams before a significant NFL encounter or looking at any NBA lines before the big Sixers game, fans can find a cozy corner and enjoy a vast sporting fixture while conducting their various pre-game and post-game activities. So, with sports fans in Philly doing precisely that this year already, below is a celebration of some of the city’s finest sports bars. After all, without them, the city’s sporting package wouldn’t be the same.
Lou & Choo's Lounge
Steeped in history after satisfying the city’s sports fans since 1982, Lou & Choo's Lounge is a warm and welcoming spot. This friendly location serves an utterly unique atmosphere and caters to sports fans in the best way possible. There are stunning cocktails to sink; giant television screens dotted around the venue, and a delightful food menu that meets the needs of the most discerning diners. You can’t go wrong with Lou & Choo's Lounge, which is backed up by its longevity.
Attic Brewing Company
If you have a penchant for house IPAs, cocktails, and a range of other special drinks you can’t find anywhere else, then Attic Brewing Company is the place to go. Sports fans in the area have been frequenting this tried and tested spot for years now, with fans gathering to watch a variety of sporting match-ups. From basketball to football, this specious venue houses many sports fanatics throughout the year and has a strong reputation for being one of the finest bars.

As the self-proclaimed official bar of the Eagles, plenty of happy football fans regularly gather at Chickie's & Pete’s. Following the team’s Super Bowl triumph, this popular spot was full of joyful fans sampling some of the venue’s best offerings. There are crab fries to devour, three bars to choose from, and a giant 18-foot screen showcases the biggest and best events on the sporting calendar. Overall, without Chickie’s & Pete’s, Philly’s selection of sports bars would be far weaker.
Frankford Hall
If you prefer American and German beers, then Frankford Hall is the perfect place to go. As many sports lovers in the city do, this inviting sports bar is more than suitable for watching any primary game. Besides refreshing drinks, sports enthusiasts can try burgers, sausages, and authentic Bavarian pretzels. It’s a great spot.
Special mention must include Murph's Bar, Craft Hall, Two Locals Brewing, The Post, Lucy’s, McGillin's Olde Ale House, Founding Fathers, and Sports & Social Philly.
