CCPD officers read to kindergartners to celebrate a decade of Bookmates

The Camden County Police Department is proud to celebrate another year of its successful Bookmates program in partnership with the Camden City Schools and the Jewish Community Relations Council. Officers taking part in the Bookmates program spend time every Tuesday and Friday reading one-on-one with kindergarten students at Dudley Elementary and Forest Hill Elementary schools. CCPD officers have been taking part in the program in schools across Camden since 2015.
Camden Mayor Vic Carstarphen, Superintendent Katrina McCombs and other city and county elected officials will be on hand as well to talk about the importance of reading with young children to help them develop their own reading skills and learn to love reading.
