Brooklawn Police Crime Report February 2024

**February 2024 Press Release**
**2/2** - An officer responded to ShopRite for a reported theft. An unknown male was seen loading 2-liter bottle containers into his truck on three occasions, totaling $700. After a review of video surveillance, David E. Rankins, 60, of Glassboro, was identified and charged with theft. A summons was mailed to his residence.
**2/8** - A Hispanic male, approximately 5'9", in his late 20s or early 30s, wearing a Bengals jersey, black winter coat, and pants, stole nearly $900 worth of merchandise by placing it in a bag and fleeing in a white Honda CRV, possibly with a Pennsylvania plate of KZA9932.
**2/9** - Robert Anthony Novak, 47, of Del Haven, was arrested for stealing scrap metal from the Brooklawn DPW Lot. He was found driving a white van with Oklahoma tags and was also wanted by the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office. He faces charges of burglary and theft.
**2/11** - A black female in her early 30s, driving a gray Dodge Journey, attempted to pay for gas at Wawa using Apple Pay. When the attendant noticed the pump was set for cash, a male passenger pumped gas and then left without paying, driving over the nozzle and breaking it.
**February 12:** An officer responded to the Brooklawn Shopping Center parking lot following a report of a male looking into vehicles. The officer located an individual matching the caller's description. During the pedestrian stop, the male, William D. Ricci, 31, from West Deptford, was found to have a warrant out of the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office. Ricci was arrested, and a crack pipe was discovered in his pants pocket. He was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and then remanded to the Camden County Jail.
**February 16:** A gas theft was reported at the Conoco Gas Station. A bald white male, wearing a red shirt and driving a dark-colored SUV, pumped $7.00 worth of gas and left without paying.
**February 18:** Officers responded to a report of a theft of cigarettes at Wawa. A customer at the register asked for two cartons of Newport 100s. When the employee placed the cartons on the counter, a black male wearing a black mask and a black sweatshirt with a green shirt underneath, who was next in line, grabbed the cigarettes and ran out of the store. It was later discovered that the man who asked for the cigarettes was working with the male who took them. The second male was described as a black male in his 60s, wearing a navy blue Adidas jacket and a gray and white hat, and he was driving a black Toyota sedan.
**February 19:** An unknown individual in a Honda Ridgeline stole a scaffolding platform and eight pieces of stainless steel window molding from Dunkin' Donuts.
**February 20:** An unknown white male, wearing a ski mask, a black vest or jacket with orange sleeves, dark jeans, and black shoes, stole a vehicle from the Wawa parking lot. The vehicle was not running, but the door was left unlocked, and the keys were inside.
**Incident Reports:**
**2/20** - A theft was reported at Planet Fitness from the women's locker room. The victim left her purse inside an unsecured locker. During her workout, an unknown individual accessed the locker and removed her wallet.
**2/21** - An officer responded to ShopRite for a shoplifting incident in progress. The officer and loss prevention staff monitored a female suspect on surveillance cameras as she placed numerous items into reusable shopping bags. The suspect then placed a few items on top of the bags and paid for those select items at the register. She was stopped after exiting the store. Malisa Sue Cooney, 46, of Bellmawr, was arrested and charged with shoplifting $258.00 worth of merchandise. She was remanded to the Camden County Jail due to outstanding warrants.
**2/21** - An unknown white male, wearing a black sweatshirt and a black ski mask, entered John’s Pizza and snatched the tip jar from the counter. The employees chased the suspect, who dropped the jar while fleeing the store.
**2/25** - A white male in his 40s, dressed in grey sweatpants and a sweatshirt with "PornHub" printed on it, received $30 worth of gas from Wawa. After entering the store, he exited, got into a Ford F-250 (displaying the company logo "Solid Concrete Walls"), and drove away without paying for the gas.
**2/25** - Another incident involved a white or Hispanic male, aged 35-45, wearing blue sweatpants, a black jacket, a blue hat, and white sneakers. He received $74 worth of gas at a different Wawa location, entered the store, and left without paying in a newer blue or black sedan with chrome wheels.
**2/28** - An officer responded to Wawa after a report of a theft involving two 12-packs of soda. Surveillance footage led the officer to obtain the suspect’s license plate and visit the identified address. Stacy Jean Dantonio, 60, of Bellmawr, was arrested and charged with shoplifting. She was released on a summons.
**2/28** - A Hispanic female, aged 30-40, requested $40 worth of gas at the Conoco Gas Station. When the gas attendant attempted to remove the nozzle, the vehicle sped off without paying. The officer obtained a license plate, and the investigation is ongoing.
**2/29** - During an investigation at Wawa related to a dispute, the female party involved was found to be wanted by the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office. She was also in possession of two small cone-shaped capsules commonly used for storing narcotics. Michele Lea Ferguson, 35, of Haddon Heights, was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. She was remanded to the Camden County Jail.
