The Camden County Police Department is proud to celebrate another year of its successful Bookmates program in partnership with the Camden City Schools and the Jewish Community Relations Council. Officers taking part in the Bookmates program spend time every Tuesday and Friday reading one-on-one with kindergarten students at Dudley Elementary and Forest Hill Elementary schools. CCPD officers have been taking part in the program in schools across Camden since 2015. Camden Mayor Vic Carstarphen, Superintendent Katrina McCombs and other city and county elected officials will be on hand as well to talk about the importance of reading with young children to help them develop their own reading skills and learn to love reading.

AUBURNDALE, FL - Tyler Cannon (Clayton, NJ/Gloucester Catholic) became Rowan's career leader in hits and Nick Struble went 4-for-4 to pace the #13 Profs' 12-2 seven-inning win over Southern Maine in the RussMatt Invitational. Rowan (11-1) has now won 10 in a row and has scored double-digit runs in all seven games of the tournament. A 57-year-old woman sustained multiple gunshot wounds to both legs and was transported by police to Temple Hospital, where she is in stable condition. A 55-year-old man suffered multiple gunshot wounds throughout his body and was also transported by police to Temple Hospital, where he remains in critical condition. Berlin Township, NJ – Detectives are investigating an attempted child abduction which occurred in Berlin Township reported Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Berlin Township Police Chief Louis Bordi. On Wednesday, March 19, 2025, officers from the Berlin Township Police Department responded to the John F. Kennedy Elementary School located at 228 Mt. Vernon Avenue for a report of an attempted child abduction. An 8-year-old girl advised school staff that an unknown male approached her from behind and attempted to abduct her while she was walking to school at approximately 8:45 a.m. in the area of Washington and Grove Avenues in Berlin Township.
