In the 18th District, a stabbing occurred at 56XX Sansom Street on the highway at 3:04 a.m. A Black male, identified as "John Doe" and believed to be in his mid-20s, was stabbed once in the left side of the abdomen. Police transported him to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition. The scene has been secured, and the offender is in custody; however, no weapon has been recovered. The investigation remains ongoing with Southwest Detectives. In the 25th District, another stabbing took place inside a bar at 40XX N Reese Street at 1:07 a.m. A 35-year-old Hispanic female suffered stab wounds to both arms. Gloucester City - On March 8, 2025, at the age of 71, Marie passed peacefully at home in the loving care of her husband of 45 years, Paul J. Martin. She is survived by Paul and extended family. Marie was a lifelong resident of Gloucester City and parishioner of St. Mary’s Church. She graduated from Gloucester Catholic class of 1972, took her college degree, and worked many years as a research chemist until her retirement. WESTMINSTER, MD - Phil Sedalis hit a grand slam to power #21 Rowan to a 9-2 first-game win over McDaniel, with the Profs putting up the same score, 9-2, in the second game to sweep the doubleheader. Rowan improves to 4-1 on the year. It was the second slam of Sedalis' career, with the last one coming in his first game as a Prof (at Virginia Wesleyan 3/4/23). Upon arrival, they learned that ShopRite management had detained an employee for stealing a television that another employee had won at the store’s Christmas party. The suspect, identified as John Johnson, 59, of Philadelphia, was arrested, processed, and released on a summons. **January 3:** An AutoZone employee reported that a male had run out of the store with a stolen vehicle scanner.
