Targeted Raid in Gloucester City; Residence Located in Same Block as Mystery Gunshots

GLOUCESTER CITY, NJ (February 23, 2025)(CNBNews)—On Friday, February 21, law enforcement officers conducted a targeted raid at the residence of Zamir Trusty, located in the 600 block of Ridgeway Street. During the operation, authorities seized illegal substances, including crack cocaine and marijuana.

Crime

Earlier, on January 12, a violent incident unfolded in the same neighborhood when two unidentified suspects discharged a total of seven gunshots at approximately 11:30 PM on a Sunday. One of the individuals, Nadir J. Thomas, a 23-year-old from Pennsauken, NJ, has been taken into custody and is currently held at the Curran-Fromhold Correctional Facility (CFCF) in Philadelphia, PA. According to Gloucester City Police, his arrest and incarnation in Philadelphia is unrelated to the recent shooting; residents anxiously await the capture of his elusive accomplice.

However, investigators are still examining the possibility of a connection between this gunfire incident and the search warrant executed at Trusty's home.

Trusty, who is just 18 years old, now faces multiple criminal charges stemming from the raid.

He has been detained at Camden County Jail under an active warrant and is awaiting a Central First Appearance Hearing, where the specifics of his charges will be addressed. The search warrant was executed by a collaborative effort involving the Gloucester City Police, the Camden County Prosecutor's Office, and the specialized S.E.R.T. unit from the Camden County Sheriff's Office.

It is important to note that Zamir Trusty is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and the legal process will determine the outcome of the charges against him.
