Rowan Falls Short to Stockton, 83-78, in NJAC Men's Basketball Quarterfinals

RowanGALLOWAY, NJ - Stockton held on late as the third-seeded Ospreys defeated sixth-seeded Rowan, 83-78, in the NJAC Men's Basketball Quarterfinals. Stockton moves on to face second-seeded Ramapo in the semifinals on Tuesday while Rowan ends its season at 12-14.

Brycen Williams scored 20 points to lead the Profs with Danny Fleming chipping in 17. Ife Okebiorun tallied  career-high 15 points on 7-for-8 shooting and Taz Cantey netted 10.

The teams met just three nights before in the regular-season finale, and this game was another hard-fought battle between the rivals that featured five lead changes and eight ties.

Stockton (19-7) had a 74-67 lead with 5:09 remaining but Rowan wouldn't fold. The Profs pulled within 74-72 at 4:19 and a three-pointer at 2:36 by Eriq Campbell gave Stockton a 78-72 cushion.

Okebiorun's dunk with 1:03 remaining pulled the Profs within, 78-75, but a jumper by EJ Spratley-Matthews at :22 was the shot Stockton need to secure the win.

Stockton led for the majority of the first half and ran up an 11-point lead, 43-32. A three from Williams and a pair of free throws by Mikey Robinson, Jr., cut Rowan's deficit to 47-44 at halftime.

Rowan was hitting from the perimeter in the first half, making 6-of-11 three-pointers, but struggled in the second half, going just 1-for-12.
