NJDOT and Division of Highway Traffic Safety host Getting to Zero Safety Conference

A Holistic Way to Look at Safety at, Hotel Conference Center, 10 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick 8a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Governor Murphy is scheduled to speak at 10:30 am

The conference will focus on the Safe System Approach that New Jersey is implementing to reduce road crashes. It is a framework for planning, designing, and managing the transportation system to mitigate risk that prioritizes the elimination of fatal and serious injury crashes for all road users. In addition to remarks from Governor Murphy and Commissioner O’Connor, the Safety Conference will have panel discussions with public and private sector experts on how to best reduce fatal and serious injuries. Of special interest will be a conversation about ways to reduce pedestrian deaths, which have increased over the past year.

Road safety is a key issue for the Murphy Administration and Commissioner O’Connor. The Getting to Zero Conference will be the first of its kind event aimed at sharing ideas on how to prevent more injuries and save more lives.
