Our local government is very important because it is the closest level of government to the citizens and directly impacts our daily lives. It is the foundation of democracy and is responsible for providing essential services to its communities. 

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

An open government is transparent, participatory, and collaborative. Transparency means sharing data and information. Participating means hearing and implementing ideas from many kinds of people and organizations. 

Gloucester City citizens expect their government to be fair and to spend their tax dollars wisely and without waste.  Gloucester City citizens expect government workers to work as efficiently as possible so their tax dollars are put to the best use. Live-streaming public meetings should be used to provide accessibility, transparency, and accountability to the citizens of our community. 

Remember, this is why the people elected you to do the job of a council member. Start doing it!
