GCPD Charge Man Involved in Random Gunfire; Accomplice Still at Large (video)

The 600-unit block of Ridgeway Street, Gloucester City, heading west towards the Delaware River. On the right is the Gloucester City Post Office. Twenty-three days ago, on a Sunday night around 11:30 PM, two men fired seven random bullets in that block. Authorities haven't released any information on why these two individuals committed this crime.
We have heard from long-time residents who viewed the attached video. They all say that they are shocked and concerned about the gunfire that echoed through that residential area. A ricochet bullet could have easily killed someone on that street sitting or sleeping in their home. This past summer, a riot broke out in that area of Broadway and Ridgeway Street. GLOUCESTER CITY, NJ (FEBRUARY 6, 2025) (CNBNews) — The Detective Bureau of the Gloucester City Police Department has announced the arrest of one of the suspects involved in a brazen shooting that rattled the community 23 days ago on Ridgeway Street. The second suspect, however, remains at large.
The unsettling event unfolded on January 12, 2025, at 11:32 p.m., when the stillness of the night was shattered by the sound of gunshots echoing through the streets. Officers quickly responded to the 600 block of Ridgeway Street, where they discovered that two individuals had unleashed seven bullets before vanishing into the shadows. According to the police, no one was struck by the errant gunfire in this harrowing episode.
Nadir J. Thomas, a 23-year-old from Pennsauken, NJ, has been taken into custody and is currently held at the Curran-Fromhold Correctional Facility (CFCF) in Philadelphia, PA. According to Gloucester City Police, his arrest and incarnation in Philadelphia is unrelated to the recent shooting that has left this community on high alert as residents anxiously await the capture of his elusive accomplice.
Thomas is facing a series of serious charges that paint a troubling picture of his alleged actions:
**20:39-5B (2)** - Unlawful Possession of a Handgun (1st Degree), a grave offense underscoring the seriousness of illegal weapon possession
**2C:39-4A (1)** - Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose (2nd Degree), highlighting the intent behind carrying a firearm
**2C:12-1B (2)** - Aggravated Assault (3rd Degree), suggesting a violent confrontation that could have resulted in significant harm
- **2C:5-1A (1)** - Conspiracy to Commit Aggravated Assault (4th Degree), indicating a calculated plan to carry out an act of violence.
**2C:12-3A** - Terroristic Threats (3rd Degree), reflecting the severity of threats that incite fear within the community.
