Assembly Speaker Craig J. Coughlin and Assemblywoman Shanique Speight sponsored the legislation. “This bill strikes a critical balance, expanding housing opportunities while ensuring towns have the resources to support that growth,” said Speaker Coughlin (D-Middlesex). “We enacted landmark legislation, A4, last spring that will spur the construction of thousands of new homes throughout the state. Now, we must ensure that our towns have the tools they need to move forward. The construction of additional housing would help stabilize the cost of housing.” Under the bill, municipalities would become eligible for preferences in certain state aid if they direct...

Small businesses, however, need to be more strategic. They can’t afford lengthy hiring cycles or inefficient processes. This is where a Human Resource Information System (HRIS) becomes essential. By leveraging automation, data analytics, and streamlined processes, small businesses can compete for top talent without overextending their resources. What Is an HRIS? An HRIS is a digital platform that integrates various HR functions into one system. It manages recruiting, payroll, benefits, performance tracking, and compliance. For small businesses, this means less administrative work and more time for strategic hiring decisions. Companies that rely on manual processes often struggle with inefficiencies. With winter weather approaching, New Jersey American Water is reminding customers that the widespread use of road salt to melt snow and ice can impact local water sources. While the company continues to provide drinking water that is safe and meets all health-based primary drinking water standards, some customers may notice temporary changes in taste due to increased salt runoff entering rivers and streams. Each winter, road crews, businesses, and homeowners apply salt to improve traction on roads, driveways, and sidewalks. As snow and ice melt, this salt can wash into nearby waterways, some of which serve as drinking water sources. Higher concentrations of sodium and chloride in the water can result in a slightly salty taste, though these levels do not pose a health risk for most people. Those on sodium-restricted diets should consult their physicians with any concerns. Taking Action to Protect Water Sources New Jersey American Water...
