UPDATED The 600-unit block of Ridgeway Street, Gloucester City, heading west towards the Delaware River. On the right is the Gloucester City Post Office. Twenty-three days ago, on a Sunday night around 11:30 PM, two men fired seven random bullets in that block. Authorities haven't released any information on why these two individuals committed this crime. We have heard from long-time residents who viewed the attached video. They all say that they are shocked and concerned about the gunfire that echoed through that residential area. A ricochet bullet could have easily killed someone on that street sitting or sleeping in their home. This past summer, a riot broke out in that area of Broadway and Ridgeway Street. On Friday, Feb. 7 at noon, at the Deptford Mall, lower level, 1759 Deptford Center Road, Deptford, students from six different high schools will compete for ribbons in 37 categories at the 43rd Annual Southern New Jersey Student Flower Show and Competition. The show is sponsored by the Gloucester Township Campus of Camden County Technical Schools’ FFA Organization. The show will feature more than 100 entries ranging from bridal bouquets, boutonnieres to newborn and holiday arrangements, and potted flowering plants to dish gardens, all made by students. “This flower show is a display of the immense talent these students have,” said Commissioner Jon Young. “The work they have put into these displays is admirable and I encourage everyone to check out these beautiful works of floral art while they are on display this weekend.” The entries will be on display from Friday to Sunday during mall hours. PHILADELPHIA – On Friday, January 31, 2025, at 6:07 PM, Medical Jet Flight 56 crashed on the 2300 block of Cottman Avenue. At the time of the crash, there were several vehicles that were traveling on the 2300 block of Cottman Avenue. First responders at the scene located a deceased individual inside one of the vehicles. The Medical Examiner's Office for the City of Philadelphia has positively identified the individual inside the vehicle as 37-year-old Steven Dreuitt of Philadelphia. On all Interstate highways as of 2 p.m. today, Thursday, January 6 Motorists urged to use caution as road conditions can change quickly (Trenton) – New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials announced the Commercial Vehicle Travel Restriction will be lifted effective at 2 p.m. today, Thursday, January 6 for all highways. On February 5, 2025, at approximately 7:36 PM, a 26-year-old male was shot once in the left chest and once in the lower left back on the 6100 block of Mulberry Street. The victim was transported to Jefferson Frankford Hospital in a private vehicle and was placed in stable condition. The scene remains held, and no weapon has been recovered. No arrests have been made at this time.
