Beginning Thursday at 12 midnight Restrictions do not apply to New Jersey Turnpike, Garden State Parkway, or Atlantic City Expressway (Trenton) – New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) Commissioner Fran O’Connor has issued a commercial vehicle travel restriction on multiple Interstate highways in New Jersey starting tonight at 12 midnight Thursday, February 6 based on the forecast for a significant winter storm with accumulations ranging between two and three inches of snow in some areas turning to freezing rain and ice across the state. Winter weather is expected to begin late tonight, Wednesday, February 5 in South Jersey and continue into Thursday afternoon, which could make driving conditions treacherous throughout the state. The travel restrictions are being coordinated with neighboring states. In addition to the commercial restrictions, all motorists are encouraged to avoid unnecessary travel on Thursday morning. The region is bracing for another round of winter weather that is set to begin on Thursday morning and the Camden County’s Department of Public Works (DPW) is working to prepare the county’s 1,200 lane miles of road ahead of time. Runnemede, N.J.- A Runnemede man has been arrested and charged for the murder of his girlfriend, reported Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay, New Jersey State Police Colonel Patrick J. Callahan, and Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey Sutherland. Christopher Blevins, 45, is charged with first-degree Murder in reference to the death of 50-year-old Laura Hughes of Runnemede. On December 22, 2024, the body of a deceased woman was discovered in a refrigerator in the Belleplain State Forest in Cape May County, NJ. The woman was later identified as Ms. Hughes. Feb. 3 at approximately 6:55 PM, a shooting occurred in the 39th District on the highway near the 2800 block of North Croskey Street. A 21-year-old male sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the face.
