Myrtle Beach, South Carolina (January 23, 2025)--– A remarkable and record-breaking snowstorm swept through Myrtle Beach, transforming the coastal landscape between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning (January 22 through January 23, 2025). Residents awoke to a stunning blanket of over five inches of snow, creating a winter wonderland in an area typically known for its sandy shores.
Jack Bottinger said his son John has lived in Myrtle Beach for 25 years. "He has not seen a snowstorm this size before last night. We have 5 inches, and to a city without a lick of snow removal equipment, that's a big problem."
John Bottinger expressed his astonishment, stating that the historical records confirm the last significant snowfall in Myrtle Beach occurred in 1989. John is part of a local family legacy; he is the son of Jack and Eppie (née DiGiacomo) Bottinger, both of whom also reside in Myrtle Beach and have roots in South Jersey.
According to the Weather Channel, today (Friday) will peak at a chilly 44 degrees before dipping to a brisk 26 degrees tonight.
