Jimmy Lee Bounds, 92, of Voorhees

On January 1, 2025, at the age of 92 Of Voorhees. NJ. Formerly of Camden, NJ. Son of the late James A. and Ida Bounds (nee Jones). In addition to his parents, James is predeceased by his sister, Jeane Williams. Survived by his sister Kathryne Langford as well as his fellow members of the Bright Memorial Disciples of Christ Church in Camden, NJ where James served as Chairman of Trustees, Deacon Board, Usher Board among other auxiliaries at Bright Memorial.
Affectionately known as Jimmy Lee or Lee Boy, he was born in Philadelphia, PA on October 10, 1932. Jimmy was a graduate of East Side High, (formerly Woodrow Wilson High School) in Camden class of 1950. He worked many years at the University of Pennsylvania before his retirement. James loved to play dominos and sing old hymns, in addition to other crafts for which he was very skillful. His family and friends will fondly remember him for his well-known saying when asked how he was doing, his reply would be, “Blessed by the Best!” And how he lovingly cared for the elderly… “Seek the Lord while He may be found, call upon Him while He’s near”.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Saturday morning, January 18, 2025 from 9 AM-11:00 AM at the Bright Memorial D.O.C. Church, 441-43 Berkley Street in Camden, NJ where his funeral service will be celebrated at 11:00AM. Interment will follow in Harleigh Cemetery 1640 Haddon Avenue, Camden, NJ
