The Titans of Football: Why the World's Best Teams Dominate the Beautiful Game

Football isn’t a game; it’s a grand symphony of skill, strategy, and raw emotion. Across the globe, specific teams stand like monuments in the landscape of the sport, casting long shadows over the rest. They’ve mastered the 1x2 equation of the game: one part talent, one part teamwork, and two parts passion. These aren’t teams; they’re dynasties built on sweat, brilliance, and a touch of magic. FC Barcelona: More Than a Club, a Philosophy When you think of Barcelona, you don’t think of a football team but a way of life. The motto “Mes que un club” (More than a club) isn’t a tagline; it’s a mission statement. Barça’s greatness lies in their unique style of play: tiki-taka. Like a well-rehearsed ballet, their short, precise passes mesmerize opponents, leaving them chasing shadows. Players like Xavi, Iniesta, and the inimitable Lionel Messi turned this style into an art form. It’s not... Read more →

After Eight Years the Gloucester City Police Department's Crime Report has Returned

EDITOR'S NOTE (January 28, 2025): This week, the Gloucester City Police Department released a new crime report. This report had been suspended for approximately eight years by Police Chief Brian Morrell and Mayor Dayl Baile. Chief Morrell explained that the report was halted due to the significant amount of time and resources required for its preparation, which made it challenging to maintain regularly. Historically, this crime report was released to the media by every other police chief for over 50 years. It was printed in the Gloucester City News when it was under the ownership of the Cleary family. The report offered valuable insights into local crime statistics and community safety issues. Additionally, it was accessible online through CNBNews (ClearysNoteBook), providing residents with timely information about criminal activity in their area. The revival of this report indicates a renewed commitment to transparency and community awareness in Gloucester City. Earlier this... Read more →

How to take control of your kids' screen time?

The issue of the need for time control spent by a child at the screen of a smartphone, tablet and other electronic devices is so serious that it is raised at the government level. The US Department of Health officially recommended that parents monitor their child, allowing a preschooler to use gadgets no more than 40 minutes a day, and a teenager no more than 2 hours. In Taiwan, China and South Korea, the situation is more serious: adults who are not able to limit the screen time of children are subject to a fine! However, the problem still exists. Is parental control really necessary? Whether we like it or not, electronic devices today are an objective reality. It is possible to hide a son or daughter from them only somewhere in Alaska or in the mountains of Tibet, because even not the most wealthy family in our time tries... Read more →

Glenn G. "Turk" Thomas, 70, of Gloucester City

We could all use this advice from an old farmer; Life is simpler when you plow around the stump. The best sermons are lived, not preached. Live a good, honorable life… Then when you get older and think back, you’ll enjoy it a second time. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly. Leave the rest to God. Most times, it just gets down to common sense. Glenn G. “Turk” Thomas was your average guy. He believed in rolling up his sleeves, putting in a hard day’s work, and filling his days with those he loved, starting each week with a Sunday family dinner. It only takes a moment to make a moment, those were fishing and hunting with Uncle Bob, little Bobby, Glenn, and Harry. Fishing is not just about catching fish; it's about understanding the delicate balance of nature, and to go fishing is a chance to wash one's soul... Read more →
