FASHION DISTRICT PHILADELPHIA CELEBRATES THE YEAR OF THE SNAKE

Philadelphia, PA - Fashion District Philadelphia celebrates the Year of the Snake with a special two week Lunar New Year Celebration, from February 1st to February 16th.  Families from the Greater Philadelphia Region are invited to the Center City shopping District for a special kick-off event on Saturday, February 1st from Noon to 2:00pm at The Cube, 901 Market Street. Festivities will include a traditional Lion Dance performance and parade around the District with The Philadelphia Suns, plus a children's craft activity, in-person Red Envelopes with a special offer from Wetzel's Pretzels, digital Red Envelopes with exclusive offers from retailers, and Lunar New Year decor and photo stations throughout the District. The digital Red Envelopes will be available from through February 16th, available on special QR codes placed around the mall. The District will also be decorated in theme during this time with photo stations, a dazzling dragon overhead and red and gold lanterns through the various levels of the mall. All Lunar New Year festivities are no charge and open to the public during regular mall hours. Fashion District Philadelphia is teaming up again with The Philadelphia Suns for a special cultural celebration to honor Lunar New Year in Philadelphia. Festivities will begin on Saturday, February 1st at Noon with a children's art project, the official debut of Fashion District Philadelphia's Lunar New Year decor, the debut of the digital Red Envelopes and complimentary in-person Red Envelopes while supplies last from Wetzel's Pretzels. At 1:00pm, the famed Philadelphia Suns will perform their special Lion Dance with drumming and live music. They will lead families and shoppers around The Cube and through the Mall with various stops outside businesses and landmarks. The parade will return to The Cube for the celebration to continue. 
 
During the celebration, and through February 16th, look for exclusive Lunar New Year decorations and photo stations, including a Lunar New Year addition to Fashion District Philadelphia's LOVE sculpture on the mall's street level at 10th Street, plus a makeover of the main photo station inside The Cube at 9th and Market. Various kiosks and other areas of the mall are also decked out in beautiful Cherry Blossom inspired flowers and red, gold and yellow lanterns. Make sure to look up when entering from The Cube into the main mall first level as a dazzling dragon is soaring above, with flashes of brilliant red, yellow and gold. 
 
Also through February 16th, look for special QR codes in the mall with special offers from retail tenants, including Aeropostale, Cinnabon, Clarie's, Columbia Factory Store, Francesca's, Guess Factory Store, Kate Spade New York, Levi's Outlet Store, Pandora, Sephora, Skechers, Super Bello and Wetzel's Pretzels. 
 
All Lunar New Year festivities at Fashion District are no charge and open to the public during regular mall hours. Mall Hours currently are:
