Congressman Van Drew Releases Statement Regarding Atlantic City Electric

I am reaching out personally about the ongoing problems with Atlantic City Electric (ACE) utility billing. I know how frustrating this situation has been, and I want you to know that I am fully committed to helping however I can.

To be clear, utility regulation falls under the state government's responsibility. The Governor and the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (NJBPU) should have stepped up to fix this by now. Unfortunately, no meaningful action, whether through legislation or regulation, has been taken at the state level to address the problem.

That said, I am not the kind of elected official to pass this off just because it is not a federal issue. My office is working with the Federal Energy and Regulatory Commission (FERC) to push for solutions, even though this is a state issue at its core. I am also reintroducing federal legislation to help prevent these kinds of problems from happening in the future.

If you have not heard directly from ACE yet or are still dealing with unresolved issues, please take a moment to fill out this form here.

I am not going to stop fighting for you until this is resolved and everyone affected gets the help they need. If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to reach out.
