American Lung Association to Release 2025 New Jersey ‘State of Tobacco Control’ Report on January 29

New report examines efforts to reduce and prevent tobacco use by state and at federal level

TRENTON – (January 22, 2025) – On Wednesday, January 29, the American Lung Association in New Jersey will release the 23rd annual “State of Tobacco Control” report. Access to the embargoed report and embargoed interviews are available upon request.

WHAT: The American Lung Association’s 23rd annual “State of Tobacco Control” report evaluates state and federal efforts to eliminate tobacco use and save lives with proven-effective tobacco control laws and policies. The report will grade New Jersey’s tobacco control measures in five areas, including funding for state tobacco prevention programs, state tobacco taxes, smokefree workplace laws, coverage of and access to quit tobacco treatments, and ending the sale of flavored tobacco products.

WHEN: The embargo on the 2025 “State of Tobacco Control” report lifts on Wednesday, January 29 at 12:01 a.m. Eastern Time.
