NEVER PASS A STOPPED SCHOOL BUS - This video was captured the other day by a Gloucester Township, New Jersey parent as their child was about to board a school bus. TWO vehicles failed to yield for the school bus yellow flashing lights, then failed to STOP for the school bus red flashing lights and stop sign.
- Yellow flashing lights indicate the bus is preparing to stop to load or unload children, you should slow down and prepare to stop your vehicle.
- Be extra vigilant around school hours, assume children may enter the roadway at any time.
- Never pass a stopped school bus when the stop sign is out and flashing
- Law requires you stop at least 25 feet in front of a stopped school bus, on either side of the road, with its stop sign arm extended.
